So I wanted to wait a few days to see if it was a fluke or not, but it's been 4 days now and I can finally say that I am the luckiest 1st time ferrent ever!! My girls came pre-litter trained! They are perfect inside of their cage and have never not use the litter box even when it gets a little poopy (man babies poop a lot! ) and they have only had one accident each outside the cage... but they were both just basically telling me they wanted their litter box in that particular corner. Now with only 2 litter boxes outside of the cage in my entire room, they don't have any more accidents! (I had 4 litter boxes ready to go and puppy pee pads but it seems there's no need!) I don't know how they figured this out on their own... but I'm not complaining!

Hahaha I don't know who I bribed... it just kind of happened? ;D
They trained themselves in the tiny glass enclosure at Petland and then they just kept up with it when I brought them home. I am so relieved though, one less thing to worry about!
Any one else been lucky enough to have pre-litter trained ferrets? Or is this just some kind of anomaly? ;D

Any one else been lucky enough to have pre-litter trained ferrets Are you kidding Boris was REALLY great when he was an only child, but once his brother came in and didn't even seem to know what a box was, it kind of went out the window for a while. Then THEY both got pretty good(with frequent reminders), and Sinnead came in. There goes the potty habits again. Etc., etc., etc. Now, Boris is back to being basically 100% again, or near enough as not to matter ;D

Haha oh no! Does this mean I might undo their litter habbits if I add more ferrets? Oh well, I'm sure it's totally worth it. They are SO bonded already, that I need to get them a 3rd once they are a bit older, because I am positive if something ever happened to one of them I'd lose both

Yeah that's how I feel too Carpet. I'll add a third a little down the road. For now I'm content with my two.

Same here Fearless, ive got my hands full with these two! And I just managed to get $1000 in the ferret emergency fund today, and that's pushing it with two, nevermind 3.
Haha sounds good heather! Sophie and Olivia will open a litter training school! Now accepting applicants haha!

From day one he was PERFECT inside the cage, and after a few weeks perfect outside as well. Then Kenai came home. and he is anything BUT perfect. And Koda went off track too. They are both slowly getting better but Kenai...he's got some practicing to do...

My girls are so fussy about using their tray that they'll even go in it while I'm sat in the middle of the room cleaning it out. It doesn't even have to be in a corner.
They also won't go toilet outside, they wait till they come back in so they can use their tray. Strange little things.

Hmmm, welcome to Minion's world and he bites you when you go to pick him up and stuff him in a litter box Potty training is painful in this house...my pain, not his I've had little girls who like to mark but I've never had a fuzz who just didn't care....he will run through the middle of it. He will be playing full out and stop, gets this stupid expression on his face (he doesn't back up, squat...nothing) and poops where he stands and then resumes whatever he was doing. It's like it doesn't even register ciao

Hmm Dixie acts in a similar fashion. She doesn't nip anymore but she is certainly the nippiest ferret I've owned. Looks like we really lucked out huh
