Morning meal went a okay. Everyone ate well with Linus eating everything in site. Gave them a little too much this morning but that's fine. Linus is munching on the chunkier parts but he isn't going out of his way to find them. I am going to give him more slivers of chix today for dinner and see how he does. He was eating them yesterday.
I am also going to make them a couple of eating dens which I found here in the forum. They've never ate in private so who knows how that is going to work out. They are all up and playing while I'm doing there weekly bedding wash.
Linus is getting so chunky and I love it!
I also added more bonemeal to Charlie's dish as I am still seeing loose stools. I do have pictures but I have no idea how to post them.

Ty and Linus are motoring along. Ty still needs to be lead to the dish. Linus digs in. I weighed Ty last night before dinner and he's added 3oz in the last 8 days. I can't believe it. Linus I'll weight tonight.
Didn't get the feeding den done yesterday but maybe today, if I have some time. Linus is eating the bits that the food processor can't seem to purée. Ty does eat some too but not as much and sometimes they turn him off right away and he leaves the dish.
Charlie wasn't really in the mood for stupid or he was being lazy. I had to finger feed him, sit with him and convince him it's time to eat. Any bits just turn him off right away. The extra bone meal is working great for Charlie and his poops were formed and looked normal for the diet switch. It was a little seedy and smaller but okay, I think.
I have to say the smell of warmed raw chicken is getting me. Ughh.

Everyone ate well this morning. Made yet another batch of soupie today. They don't seem to be eating as much today. Spoon fed Charlie tonight. He ate half of what I gave him. He still wants to eat a little at a time never sitting for a whole meal. First night Ty beat Linus to dinner. Neither of them were interested in the ground chicken or slivers I gave them. Scuffed Linus to get a piece of heart in there. Well he spit if out. Ty will not open his mouth that little bugger. I added beef heart instead of chicken. Is that's the reason for them not eating as much tonight?? Will be trying slivers at dinner. They seem to eat more in the a.m.

Charlie ate real well this morning and so did the other 2. Charlie didn't do as well but still tends to graze throughout the evening.
Everyone is pooing less and peeling more. Smell has gone down too!
I am not sure how to start including slivers in their meals for Ty and Linus. Are there any tricks or does it just happen one day? I have put them in their soupy and they eat around them. I've tried ground chicken and slivers of heart. No such luck.
I did scruff and stuff Linus once but I am not sure if there is a better way. I don't want him to get annoyed with feeding time or be out off with string arm tactics. Lol

Everything is going well. Linus ate more slivers yesterday evening and I managed to get one done Ty's throat but just the one. Even then I had to pry his mouth open. Silly stubborn boy. I am keeping the soupie quite thick and I leaves the skin pieces that the food processor didn't do right. Linus found a huge one a couple of days ago. He managed to get it down but it was fun to watch. Using slightly less baby food with Charlie but it still needs to be in there. So this morning I go down to feed the ferts and as soon as they hear me they all get up. Too cute! I take out the sleeping bag, throw down a towel and plop Linus and Ty's food down while I make room for Charlie's special mix. Well, Charlie was the first to dig in on their food. Yup, no prodding or leading, a bit cool with slivers and NO baby food. My little boy is playing some serious games with me. I keep an eye on them for a bit bc I want to make sure Charlie gets enough and doesn't bail out early. He ate a good amount and I went upstairs for coffee. I added about 20 slivers of chicken in the soupie. They weren't touched when I went upstairs. I come back down about an hour later ready to find them all in a nice neat pile in the middle of their plate. I was wrong. Someone ate them ate all of them. I was in shock I checked their cage to see if they moved or stashed them somewhere, nope all gone! So excited. I noticed they Charlie eats more in the morning too and not so much at night. I wish I had a fert cam down there....sneaky kids.

Yes, so excited! I can't wait to see them munching on bone and trying different proteins.
I am so bored of chicken but they seem to love it.

Everything is about the same, still adding small slivers to the am meal. Charlie has been off the baby food for 2 days. I'll see how long this lasts, fingers crossed. He also ate a couple of slivers on Sunday morning. Linus ate another huge chunk of skin. I can't believe he finds all of them too funny. Ty doesn't go out of his way to eat any slivers he just licks around them. We'll see how today's feeding goes.
I've made the soupies in to ice cube trays and then put them into a plastic bag in the freezer. They eat 4 cubes every morning . In the evening they get the same. Sometimes they eat it all plus more and sometimes they leave a little. No one looks to be losing any weight. My scale broke last week so I have to order another one.

I am happy to say that Charlie is again off the baby food. Whoop whoop! It's been 2 whole days without it. Knock on wood. He is eating off the same plate as my other 2. Thick soupy. I am just taking a little of the chill out of it. It's still cool but they don't seem to mind. Linus is the only one who will eat slivers on his own. He just plows through what's in front of him. Too cute. Ty and Charlie eat around them those little buggers. Charlie's stool have been good the last couple of days. More formed and not so loose. I've been adding some extra bone to the meals. I just had a feeling they were deficient for some reason. Can you give them too much bone?

Yayy for progress!
Yes, you can definitely give too much bone. Too much bone will cause constipation. If their poops get hard and dry-looking, they're getting too much. You said you've been adding bone to their diet. They're still on soup, so is that boneMEAL? Usually you only need 1/2 of a tsp per 8 oz of meat. If they need more than that to keep their poops firmed up, rather than mixing it into the whole batch of soup, you might try just sprinkling a TINY bit of extra on their food only when they need it. That way you won't have a whole bunch of soup in the freezer with extra bonemeal in it.

I caught Charlie munching on a big, for him, piece of skin this morning. So excited for him and he also went right back to eating instead of backing away in disgust. Lol They have all been eating a little less the last two days. I'm hoping this means they are sort of leveling off bc they have been eating me out of house and home. Not that I mind but it would be nice to see how much the will end up eating daily. Linus' fur is getting softer and shinier. He is losing hair on the base of his tail not sure if it's the coat change or the beginnings of adrenal....I'm hoping its a coat change. d*mn adrenal.

I have been adding slivers to every meal. Ty licks around them the most followed by Charlie and Linus. Charlie will eat them if I hand feed him. Linus is pretty okay on his own and Ty is going to be difficult. He just will not open his mouth.
Charlie still has loose/sometimes green poo and it stinks to high heaven. However I have noticed that it is much firmer when eating slivers vs soup. I will be taking them out one at a time today to weigh them and feed slivers by hand. They seem to eat better in the morning than they do in the evening.
This morning they had 3oz of soupie and 2 oz of slivers. They didn't finish it so I left it in the cage and I'm going to eco on the now to see if they finished it.yesterday they did but is another day...fingers crossed.
Well dinner did not go like i predicted. I measured out 2.1oz for each ferret tonight. I normally don't weigh their meal I just eye ball it and then add a little more. Anyway, Linus went first. He scoffs down slivers at breakfast no problem. Tonight. Nope he ate next to nothing. I made him a feeding den. He went in to check it out but that was it. I didn't want to push too hard so I'm going to try again a little later. Charlie was next. I held him and spoofed him. He eats best when I do this he likes his bonding time with mom. He ate half slivers and all. I feel confident that he will eat the rest later tonight. He never sits for a whole meal. Ty surprised me the most. He who licks AROUND slivers every single morning and REFUSES to open his mouth for me at all, ate them with no problem tonight. I did hold him and use a spoon but it wasn't really necessary. I couldn't feed him fast enough. I tell ya he really keeps me on my toes. He's my enigma and too smart for his own good.
My husband takes our 2 dogs to the park everyday for a walk and I decided to bring Ty and go along myself. We weren't sure how it was going to go but he was AWESOME. He sniffed around, dug in the sand, dooked along and followed us. I couldn't believe it he actually followed us around. I thought he'd be so excited he'd go everywhere we didn't want him to go. Nope. He was better than my dogs. Unbelievable.

I Love that you took Ty for a walk. That's so good for them and they really enjoy it.
You're moving along nicely. It takes awhile for them to decide this is real food and its safe to eat. That's why hand feeding helps. They trust us and it's a lovely bonding time.
Linus probably just wasn't that hungry this morning. We all have days like that. What worked for me with Wynstan was to hold him in my left arm, tuck his little feet into my elbow and stand at the sink. Then I would pick up a sliver of meat and run it under some hot water. Then I offered it to him, He takes it and I bend over and put him down. Wynstan really seemed to enjoy that and I still do it for him sometimes. The hot/warm water releases the smell and seems to make the sliver more tasty. Of course, then he comes back and I pick him up, give a piece, put him down and he runs off and eats, comes back, I bend over, etc... but it's fun and cute.

@poncesmom I do the same thing with Linus but the only difference is he stashes it and doesn't eat it. He does come back for more never eating a single bite. How long would you leave it in his spot before coming to the conclusion he's not going to eat it? I'm following him all around the house making sure I know where his spots are. I even built him a feeding den. Wasn't interested, I'm going to keep trying. One of these days he will get it....

Charlie still has undigested fat poops. He is eating at least 1/2 & 1/2 soup/slivers and still no consistent progress. Loose and smelly. He ate well this morning, about 2oz. He feels a little lighter, I think. Im going to weigh him later on today. He only seems to eat well when I had/spoon feed him the last couple of days which is fine but I wish he would eat on his own. I think he just loves all the attention and encouragement.
Ty never got up for breakfast and Linus didnt eat much. I have no idea what is going on with them. Ty is just lazy bugger in the morning. Linus, who knows, I think he is still on his high from last night. He broke into my craft room which no pets are permitted to go in. He was up there at least a couple of hours until I heard his hopping around up there from bed. He got into everything but there isn't anything that could have hurt him. It's ferret proof but I still dont like em in there...sneaky ferret.
