Oh goodness, I just read everything. I am so happy she is home and on the road to recovery. My husband works construction and I pick up those darn ear plugs ALL THE TIME! Drives me batty, he just doesn't understand that even though they don't CURRENTLY care about them that they won't decided there a yummy treat.
I will keep you and your baby in my thoughts.

Well those little ear plugs can come with a hefty price tag as I have learned. I had them because at our old place due to noisy downstairs neighbors keeping me up all night.
There is no such thing as being careful enough.

Oh I'm so glad she's okay! I can understand the post-op jitters of their friends. When Juliet had her surgery for her adrenal she couldn't see Caillou for 1 week, and she couldn't come out to play with him for 2 weeks. He got pretty sad so I made sure to let them see each other, and I would let them walk around together with me hovering over them to make sure he didn't pounce on her. But at least she going to be alright, that's great to hear. Ferrets feel better quickly and want to play before they are able, so that just shows how strong they are. I'm sure she will recover with flying colors.

You may want to pm Katt (hurricanekatt). Her wee ones have had a number of blockage surgeries, she's a really good person to talk to about post op care I'm so glad your little one pulled through. I was so concerned, I knew if it was a blockage, you were running out of time, I'm so happy she's come through the surgery and she's going to be ok ciao

Silly silly girl! You may want to double think isolation if someone is particularly bonded. Definitely let them say hello at the very least so they know she hasn't done a runner on them.

Yes, watch them both if they are extremely bonded. I had to keep my bonded pair separate after one (Yogi) had surgery on his tooth. Being separated caused them both to get sick. His girl, Daisy, quit eating and started getting sick after two days. Yogi was not recovering well at all. I was supposed to keep them apart for a week. That lasted two and a half miserable days. I would only allow them short visits for a while and then after that I would allow them to sleep together. After the first "visit" she started to eat and he started to recover. Watch them carefully...but I'm so happy you made it through that. I was a nervous wreck thinking about your sweet baby. Gentle kisses to Gilly <3

Thanks everyone. She is doing exceptionally well this morning. She is super alert and wanting to get up and move. I started her off on some very thin soup this morning, but it was obvious she wanted chunks of meat. She would have kept eating had I not stopped her when I got concerned that she was eating too much too soon.
I did let Nax sniff her last night so he knew she was home. I am just super worried about the stitches getting pulled. When they opened her up, they made a 3 inch incision.
Right now I have her in the travel carrier with the the front facing the large cage so they can see and sniff each other.

So glad to hear she is recovering so well Willow was supposed to remain separate as well after her insu surgery. We started letting them sleep together after she started tantruming in her sick cage.

I'm so glad she's okay. We use those ear plugs and keep them in a drawer. I have found them on the floor before. Thank Gilly for the lesson.

You just made my morning. (dance) Those stupid ear plugs. I wore them for years because of shift work, and Ponce never touched them. Practically the first day that Roamy was here, he found one. I got it away just in time. Then I threw them all away. For all our new ferrents out there, this is a good lesson learned. Find an emergency vet now, and stash their name and number in your ferret emergency kit. Something like this can happen to any of us, and its hard to think clearly, when we are in a panic mode. nixxie, if you want to add the Emergency clinic's name and the Name of your nice new Vet, to our Vet list, please do. holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/6/list-vet?page=6The Vet said to keep Gilly calm, now you try to stay calm (eat some chocolate or have a cocktail). Crisis averted and you handled it very well.

The vet that did the surgery is the vet I got off of that list. Gina at the Redwood clinic. I will add the emergency vet to the list though.

I've been a bit out of pocket, but I'm so glad this episode has had a good resolution. And I'd be giving the "there's absolutely no blockage" vet a call.

I've been a bit out of pocket, but I'm so glad this episode has had a good resolution. And I'd be giving the "there's absolutely no blockage" vet a call. They also double billed me. They claim they only swiped my card once and the terminal shows only one transaction, but it is on my bank statement twice with in minutes of each other for the same exact amount. So I am extra not happy. I am thankful for the lactated ringer solution they gave her but that was no $300+ worth.
