This morning I fed Juliet first, she got 2 oz of the chicken breast soupy, she ate pretty well, I held her in my lap and spoon fed her a little bit.
This morning I fed Caillou 2nd, after he got his meds he got 2 oz of the same soupy Jules got, he ate it good too.
Tonight I had to make a new batch of soup, and completely forgot that I was out of chicken breast. It was 10:00pm and I saw my neatly portioned 8 oz bagged chicken thigh, so I thought I'd just make a batch to give them tonight and get breast in the morning. I made the soupy the same just with chicken thigh (chicken thigh, liver, heart) and the same consistency as last time, a pudding-like.
I fed Juliet first, I sat in the floor and held her and it took a minute for her to just lick it, but then she dug in, I didn't even have to hold her or use the spoon until the last tiny bit. She was eating it up like candy, she loved it! She hasn't eaten that well at all. I was so surprised! She ate 2 oz of it, no problem. No ferretone!
I fed Caillou next, after his meds. He got the same thigh soupy, he was cautious at first because he could smell it wasn't the same, but once he took a few licks he was all in, loved it too. Only spoon-fed one or two to get him to finish it. He also at 2 oz. No salmon oil!
Litter box is smelly, filled with pee and little green and brown poos. When my friend came over today and saw me staring it down when I cleaned their litter box she told me I was obsessed with their poops. LOL. I couldn't argue with it, I've become the total poo patrol.
Caillou is feeling 100% better, he hasn't chewed or bitten anything at all since Thursday/Friday, and all the fabric is in the cage as of today. He is still on his antibiotics, has to take them until Saturday. But I'm very glad he's feeling better.

Ferrets weekly weigh in progress- I weighed them Saturday (September 13th) but forgot to post it.
Juliet's Weight on August 30th 2014 27.4 oz (1.8 lbs)
Juliet's Weight on September 13th 2014 28.6 oz (1.12 lbs)
---------------------------
Caillou's Weight on August 30th 2014 51.2 oz (3.2 lbs)
Caillou's Weight on September 13th 2014 54.3 oz (3.6 lbs)
So they have both gained weight, Caillou more than Juliet, but at least it's something!

Thank you! I am very proud of my two, they really are doing good. So a little bit ago I cut up a chicken wingette really good, I used a cleaver and kitchen shears and a knife and cut them into sliver-sized pieces, and the bone too. I put them on a plate and sat in the floor and put Cailou in front of it, he wouldn't dare touch it, until I put 2 drops of salmon oil on it. Long story short, I stopped counting the pieces he ate after I got to 10-15 slivers, he ate at least 20 pieces of it, or half of what was on the plate! I'm so happy! He acted like he really liked them, and he wasn't just licking up the oil, he was actually biting trying to get them into his mouth. He ate several pieces of bone too. Juliet ate 2 pieces of them, she got some bone in her mouth and chewed on it for a good while then spit it out. She had to have ferretone on it or else she was convinced it was a death food, but we're getting there. As long as they are small Caillou will eat them, the bigger ones he may chew but usually spits out. I'm going to make them bigger next time, half of them the same size and half a little bigger, so maybe I can trick him into the bigger slivers. Yay

This morning I fed Juliet first, she ate 2 oz of the chicken thigh soupy with me holding her on the floor, didn't have to spoon feed, she ate very well.
This morning I then fed Caillou, he ate 2 oz of the same soupy with a little spoon feeding.
This afternoon I fed Caillou slivers of chicken wing and bone, he ate at least 15-20 slivers, barely any salmon oil to entince him, he chewed them up and acted like he really liked them. Juleit ate 1-2 but she didn't really want them.
Tonight I fed Juliet first, I made a new batch of chicken thigh soup and it was much thicker, it was like the consistency and sort of stringy, just like pulled pork BBQ is the only thing I can think of that matches how thick and such it was. Juliet liked it quite a bit, she ate 2 oz of it with barely any help. Then I gave her and Caillou some raw egg mixed with warm water and a pinch of eggshell powder, they ate almost all of, needed 2 little drops of ferretone to get them to eat it but once they tried it they loved it.
Then I fed Caillou the same soup Jules got, and he was not amused. Took me almost 20 minutes to get him to eat 0.5 oz of it, he was scratching and fighting me, he didn't want it. I'm hoping he just wasn't that hungry, since he ate a lot of the egg, and he also ate all those pieces of meat earlier.
Litter box has light brown and dark brown and a little bit of green, more formed poops since increasing the eggshell powder, they are watery now they are just a little runny, I presume normal.
Today Juliet ate 4 oz of soup Today Caillou ate 2.5 oz of soup (and 15-20+ slivers)

This morning I fed Juliet first, she ate 2 oz of the chicken thigh soup.
Then I fed Caillou 2nd this morning, he also ate 2 oz of the same soup.
Tonight I made a new batch of soupy, the same consistency as the last, the only way I can describe it is exactly like pulled pork BBQ, stringy and thick like it. First I chopped up a chicken wing, it was mostly the meat on it because I gave most of the bone except a few pieces, to my dog, because my kitchen shears are broken and I almost killed myself trying to cut it with a knife, so I gave up after I got 3 slivers of bone. I had half of them fingernail crescent size, and half about double the size of that. I added some salmon oil, and offered them to Caillou. He ate quite a few of them, 0.4 oz of it. So long as they are small enough he eats them well. Any bigger and he takes them across the room and spits them out.
Then I mixed some soupy with the slivers and offered it to Juliet, she won't eat the slivers alone, but she will if they're in the soup. She ate 1 oz, and 0.3 of that was slivers. Every time she got a big piece in her mouth she ran and hid right under my bed skirt and chewed it up. Weirdo... lol
Caillou also ate 1 oz of soupy and some slivers mixed in with it.
Today Juliet ate 3 oz of soup + 0.3 oz chicken wing slivers Today Caillou ate 3 oz of soup +0.5 - 0.7 oz chicken wing slivers

I'm tagging some Senior Mentors: Sherry, katt bitbyter gfountain for this question. Juliet and Caillou are doing well. Emily would like to introduce a new protein. We have done a few PM's and I want to make sure that the correct balance is kept. Emily feeds Juliet and Caillou a regular soupie with some slivers, for breakfast. Jules is moving along at a slower pace and Caillou is eating a little better and slightly bigger slices. She would like to try a new protein. I suggested she try offering a new protein for dinner. Make a soup out of the new protein and then try a few small slivers and do this for a few dinners in a row. If she does this, should she include organs or should she just do a new protein soup puree?

And what new protein would be best to try first? I'm going to get quail, CGH, but I wasn't sure what else to get? I was going to get spleen and kidney and whatever other organs I can find, but I wasn't sure about any other muscle/bone in meats to look for?

Got back from the Asian Market, they didn't have any organs but liver and I have plenty of that so all I got was a 6 pack of Quail, quail eggs, and some Lamb meat.

I'd actually just mix a few slivers of the new protein in with the food they are used to. If they are fine with that increase the new protein while reducing the old. Once at about 50 / 50 they should be fine with either.

If they are eating slivers then, as Jason said, just mix the new protein into the soup in sliver form.

I mashed up the quail and put some salmon oil on it then gave it to Caillou after his meds, he was suspicious, as he is with everything, but he ended up eating 0.5 of it, and lots of pieces of bone. Some pieces he ate were 2-3 times the size of of fingernail crescent sized slivers. And pieces of bone that big some of them he didn't mind, he chewed them really well and ate a lot of pieces. Then I gave him his soup, it was 2 oz of soupy and 1 oz of slivers, he ended up eating 1.5 oz of that mixture. I hoped he would eat more, but I figured the quail filled him up pretty good. Caillou doesn't have to have food with his meds, but I always make sure he gets food after because I'm afraid he'll eat his litter or fabric again because of the taste.
Then I offered it to Juliet, she wouldn't dare touch it alone on a plate, so I mixed 1 oz of quail slivers in with 2 oz of soupy and gave it to her. She ate several pieces, but they had to be the smallest ones and she doesn't like bone so far, she ate a few pieces of bone but wasn't happy about it. And I have about 10 slivers under my bed skirt and in several other places in my room.. :face: haha She ate 1.5 oz of that mixture also. I wanted her to eat more, but I'm not worrying too much, and I'll make sure she eats 2 oz of soupy for breakfast every day so it doesn't matter what she eats at night, since she'll have all she needs from the morning. Usually she eats that for breakfast anyways.
Super proud of my babies, Caillou is eating bone like a champ and Juliet is eating her slivers like the old grandma she is. Bone, they ate bone. yay! I keep spoiling them because of my proudness, Juliet tells me that a few drops of ferretone won't hurt, and I listen. Hehe, our little secret.

This morning I fed Juliet first, she got a very thick soup, like pulled pork BBQ but thicker than last time, its thick enough to be able to pick up in your hand, and in order to eat it she has to chew the whole time. It takes her forever to eat it but she seems to like it. She ate 2 oz of it.
This morning I then fed Caillou after he got his meds, he got the same soup but he was a pain about it, he didn't want to eat it but I wasn't giving in. After quite a bit of fighting from him he ate 2 oz of it.
Tonight I offered them both some mashed up Quail, it even had salmon oil on it, but neither of them wanted to eat it, they ate 1 small piece but were absolutely not eating any more. I didn't give them soup tonight, they ate enough today so I'm going to give them quail again in the morning mixed with their soup and hopefully they'll be more willing to eat it.

Today is the 3 week mark of their raw diet. Uploading pictures and posting weights tomorrow.
