Found some Chicken gizzards at the store last night, needless to say, the girls were thrilled! they each ate one even though they ate their chicken necks already LOL...now gizzards are just considered muscle meat cuz its not a secreting organ right?

I had heather look at your poop pictures. She thinks that the first one looks maybe too dry, like they have had too much bone or egg shell, the second looks maybe like undigested chicken skin? And lastly that the third could be stress? Anything new in their lives? How long ago did you get your new baby?

Yes gizzards are a muscle meat. Great for building jaw strength and cleaning teeth.

Thanks for the info about the girls poop. I will ease up on the bone meal some. I got Zoe at the end of July and Sophie at the end of August. There has been no new changes around the house and things really have been going better now that the boys and girls are starting to get along too. I'm not sure about the I digested chicken tho. They always seem to eat chicken just fine too. I'll keep u posted in any poo changes!

The green could be stress related then.. two new additions within a month of each other is enough to upset a business. If they become runny, a stool check would probably be a good idea to make sure it's not bacteria overload.

Thank you for the advice. I am still seeing some green Poos but not as often too I will get a pic posted and continue to monitor them. Im sorry I didn't post all weekend. I was away from my office and my Ipad would not let me posT! So I have several posts coming including last weeks menu's. Shift had one bad day of Poo's last week and all the other days were great! Cam's are good too Shift bad Poo was on 10/3 and I had just started giving that Forti Flora Probiotic the day before, so maybe that was the issue? I did want to ask, how often and how much of the Forti Flora I need to be giving the boys? Ive been giving a tiny pinch in each of their soups 2x a day since 10/2. on another note, the only other supplements they are receiving still is Reishi Mushroom (on and off). Cam of course, still receives 1/3 of pred a day (split in halves) for his insulinoma. His BG is good. Yesterday after a 4 hour fast it was 113. Girlies are fine health wise....They just turned 5 months yesterday. Some added stress may occur for Sophie possibly, because her vulva started to swell friday night, which of course is early I already talked to Sophies breeder and she told me that she has experienced this a few times with young jills but expects the swelling to go back down again. However she noted that if it hasn't gone down within a week, we would "go from there"

1. Ferret's name:Shift 2. Ferret's weight: 1.80 lbs <<<This makes me extremely happy! (dance) 3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal. Fairly Hefty bowls of soup 3x a day and usually eats additional Kibble a few times a day also. 4. Stools on various proteins. Stools are doing much better. 5. Activity levels: Moderate. Has not been interactive with the other ferrets this week, except Cam somewhat. He does play though on his own stashing toys throughout the house. If one of the girls approaches him, he attacks (seems stressed from them). This is not new of course, but now happens more frequently. Maybe he is feeling better now, so has the energy to attack... 6. Weekly menu: Shifts weekly Menu consisted on the same this every day and 3x a day. I am sticking with this soup mixture because it seems to be working. Its NV frozen raw lamb, NV Frozen Chicken (only two pieces), Stella and Chewy's Dandy Lamb FDR, Ziwi Peak for Cats Lamb formula, NV Lamb Raw boost powder formula, and on occasions I will add Stella & Chewy's Duck Duck Goosed FDR. Apart from Shift's soups, he will eat kibble if he is hungry. It is still Wysong Epigen and NV Duck and Turkey formula. I also crumble the Dandy Lamb FDR over the kibble. 1. Ferret's name:Cam 2. Ferret's weight: 1.94 LBS 3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal. Fairly Hefty bowls of soup 3x a day and usually eats additional Kibble a few times a day also. 4. Stools on various proteins. Stools are doing much better. 5. Activity levels: Normal for an old guy he makes his frequent rounds and interacts and plays (somewhat) with everyone and plays with all his toys too, and on occasion goes mountain(couch and cat tower) climbing. He gets along with everyone now and never causes any trouble. Cam's weekly menu is exactly the same as Shifts Question on the boys feeding goals: What goal am I working towards here with their diet? For me personally, I just wanted a diet that has raw in it and is contributing to their health and weight. I feel that we have achieved that goal. I have been feeding the boys soups for years now 2x a day just for the simple fact that they seem to enjoy it, So I will always probably feed them soups (now its just raw soups So I guess I need to know what you think I should do next if anything? I am assuming you will probably say that they need to eat the commercial raw chunks and FDR in between their soup meals. If you think that is best, we can go for it, I am just not sure if the boys will be accepting. LOL! Im not against high quality kibble either, so if we have progressed far enough, that is fine with me. I am basically just wanting to see the direction you are wanting to go in

Weekly Menu for the girls! I portioned out there organs for the week on Sunday. So please note that I will write organ mix on the times that I fed the organs. This weeks organ selection consisted of a mix of Beef Pancreas, Pork Liver, and Chicken heart. I fed about 1.3 Oz of Heart. .80 oz of Pancreas, and 1 oz of liver PER FERRET, throughout the week. I shall mention this was not at all a successful organ week . They ate all chicken heart of course, but neither ate any Ground up Beef Pancreas at all, even tried mixing with ground chicken and nope...so this may be a lost cause and Sophie ate a minimal amount of pork Liver and Im pretty sure Zoe didnt eat any. I did toss in a small amount of Beef Kidney and Chicken liver here and there too try and even out their organ intake but I dont feel they ate enough organs this week. I will post girls together since they eat the same thing each day 1. Ferret's name:Zoe& Sophie 2. Ferret's weight: Zoe 1.86 lbs Sophie 2.16 lbs 3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal. about 1.2 oz per meal, will eat some and come back later to finish the rest. 4. Stools on various proteins. Well we are working on this one as you know LOL 5. Activity levels: Normal activity level for 5 month olds 6. Weekly menu: Monday AM: Pork & Lamb w/Carnivore Raw 1.5 Oz each. PM: Organ mix and 1/2 chicken neck each. Tues AM: Veal & Chicken w/Bone meal 1.5 Oz each PM: organ mix (including beef kidney) with 1/2 chicken neck each but neither ate! Wed AM: 1.6 oz pork and Lamb w/ Bone meal each. PM: 1/2 Chicken neck each and 1 gizzard each Thurs AM:Chicken and Lamb w/Bone meal 1.5 oz each PM: small amt of pork liver, chicken thigh, chicken gizzard. Fri AM: 1/2 chicken neck each. PM: Stella's Duck and Chicken Archetype FDR Sat AM:Pork and gizzards. PM: 1/2 neck, gizzards, chicken hearts. SUN AM: 1/2 Chicken neck each. PM: 1 oz each of chicken hearts, livers, and Beef kidney. 1oz of turkey thigh each. They were hungry last night apparently LOL

Yay I'm glad shift gained some weight! Personally my goal would be to remove kibble completely. They are your ferrets, you set the goal that you want to achieve and I'm just here to help you reach it. Don't feel bad about the organs. I haven't had a lot of luck with beef kidney or pancreas in my house too. I hide mine in soup and slather it with salmon oil lol As long as they eat some sort of secreting organ it'll be okay.

Thank you, I guess I will have to decide my goal for the boys then also on the Forti Flora Probiotic, how often do I give it to them?...I have mostly been giving it to them 2x a day and just a small pinch each... or do I just give it when Poo's start to look weird? Minimal progress on Sophie with a mouse. I covered it in EVOO and ferretone and she licked the mouse down really good haha but did not eat it...Silly girl.

What a picky little girl! You could try fasting her, no breakfast or lunch. Then feed her the mouse and see if she will eat it.
As for the probiotic, I'd use it when he seems to be having issues, or when you try a new food.

She is picky LOL..I will try fasting her, although that will be hard for me haha. Its weird the past several days, they have been eating a ridiculous amount of food. I wanna say about an average of 2 oz per meal, per ferret. I dont know why they are so hungry LOL...Maybe hormones?
Noted on the probiotc...Thank you!
A weird question that I should have asked a long time ago: Am I supposed to wash/rinse all the meats before i give them to the girls. I usually rinse the muscle and in bone meats but not the organs. Is this ok?

You an rinse them if you want. I usually dont unless they feel slimy to me.
Winter is coming, your baby especially will start packing on the weight. My new boy Loki went from less than 2lbs to over 4lbs in a little over a month. When they are hungry, watch out! they start eating for 2.. or 3 or 4 LoL.
