Too cool! What do you use for the ramp for your FN? I love the idea of having a ferret room, I like the idea of hardwood floors even more!

It's a leftover piece of wire shelving for closets. (: It fit just perfectly, and it saves them climbing in and jumping out of the FN.

That's an awesome start. You may want to cover the ramp you're using to the ferret nation. The rungs are rather wide and you might get little feet caught. You're lucky, you're guys will let you use a baby gate to separate them from the whole world of the house My fuzz room is looking like a disaster right now. If you note on the first photo, hanging on the side of the cages are the ramps for the ferret nations. I've used tubing so that they don't catch their paws on the rungs. The second photo shows one of the ramps that is actually down. ciao

One thing I read about on the FML is how someone essentially turned their house into a ferret house, via tubes. They ran through the walls, ceilings, across the ceilings, down the walls, etc. Throughout the house. They only had access to a few rooms on the floor, but had several hundred feet of tubing installed ;D

Heather that's neat, that's my dream. Hubby noticed me looking at these and asked what it was, I replied with a ferret room, he turned to me laughed and said we are NOT getting a third bedroom for the ferrets.
My response? "No you're right we're getting a third room for the ferrets and my craft/office area." LOL!

I'm actually using two baby gates, stacked on top of each other, with leftover 12-pack soda packs (flattened) in between so that they can't 'climb' up to the top gate.. ;D We'll see how long it lasts, and make modifications from there!
Once I get my ferret bedding set, I can use the scraps I'm using for shelves now to make a cover for the ramp.

Beautiful room Mau! I've got floor envy... Ah, the messes that could have been prevented with a hardwood floor... *sigh*.
Heather, Rip just decided that she's packing her bags and hitchhiking over to your place. I'm SO jealous!

See this is what happens to babygates in my house This is what I used for the ferret room. Oh, by the way...the ferret room was supposed to be my art space too....that didn't happen. When I've got little ones who can do this (caught the brat on video in full motion ) ciao

It's actually really easy. It was an extra door, that we had left over when we built the house but you can pick them up as damaged product or at the used and extra building materials at the recycling building depot. You just replace the regular door with your ferret door. If you want to use the room as a bedroom again you just change out the door. ciao
