They ate most of yesterday's gizzard snack. For dinner they got quail and ate pretty much all of that. For lunch today they got a good sized portion of ground lamb and pork (mostly lamb) with water.

They ate most of yesterday's lunch, although I did find some bits of it throughout their pen. They still don't usually stash very much. For dinner they got turkey back and ate most of it. For lunch today they got organ combo. Since this meal is so organ variety heavy I added bone meal and a couple FDR nuggets.

Is there any nutritional difference between feeding them liver and gizzards? I was thinking about it just now as I saw this.

Gizzard is just a muscle meat, it doesn't provide the same nutrition as liver (which has lots of vitamin A for example), which will always need to be fed separately unless you feed a food where it's already included in appropriate amounts (like freeze dried raw or whole prey).

Gizzards clean teeth and build jaw strength. Nutritionally, It is also a good source of Protein, Vitamin B12, Iron, Phosphorus and Zinc, and a very good source of Selenium. Liver, like raynebc said is high in Vitamin A. Vitamin A builds up in their systems, so it has to be carefully watched. Their weekly intake should not exceed five percent of their total food intake. Nutritionally, Liver is high in Iron and zinc, copper and manganese, and a very good source of protein, vitamin D, vitamin C, riboflavin, thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, pantothenic acid, phosphorus and selenium. So, each has it's own nutritional value.

They ate almost all of their chicken dinner. For lunch they got ground pork and the last little bit of beef I had in stock. Since there was so little I didn't add any FDR.
I saw the thread about the Stella and Chewy's recall, but all the packages of it I have a much older than the affected lot number(s). In fact one of them is near its expiration date since I use so little of it now. I think I'll keep using small amounts of the duck FDR (probably just to ground beef and organ combo meals) since that adds extra protein variety to their diet. I also have almost an entire package of the salmon/cod flavor, but I haven't offered that much. Maybe the next time they empty their plate and still look hungry I'll give them a sample of it.

Funny enough, mine love Cod. I use to buy the Whole Life FDR Cod, but at $66 for 14oz, it was very pricey. So, I tried the S&C salmon/cod and they didn't like it. I'll be curious to see if yours do.
My Roamy loves shrimp and I did buy some Cod (for human consumption) which they liked. They like Salmon oil, but the S&C salmon/cod did not go over well.

Jesus Christ, you should dress your ferrets up in a tuxedo and take them to a 5 star resteraunt instead LOL! Yes, I'll have a salad and my ferret will have a filet minion, extra rare

My husband Paul said, "Oh Steaks for dinner" and I had to tell him the Steak was for the ferrets, we were having Pizza. What we do for our ferrets. Right!

That's funny, I had pizza earlier today while Nei ate steak In an hour I'm going to add her heart for the week. She sure do loves beef. She'll pick at the chicken until she is too hungry to resist but with beef she'll eat as much as you give her until her belly is too big to walk!

I haven't offered them the salmon/cod FDR for quite a long time, the last time I did they recoiled at the smell.
They ate most of yesterday's lunch and almost all of yesterday's quail dinner. For lunch today they got pork kidney and chicken hearts. I didn't add FDR to that meal either.

It sounds like you are almost FDR free. That's great. How are they doing with bones overall now?

They seem to do really well with bones, even harder ones like in turkey back meals.
They ate almost all of yesterday's lunch, the little bit that was left looked like kidney slivers so it looks like they prefer hearts. For dinner yesterday they got turkey back and ate most of that. For breakfast today they got quail.

They ate almost all of Wednesday's quail breakfast and did the same for their chicken dinner. For breakfast yesterday they got chicken liver and beef heart, and ate almost all of it (little scraps of beef heart were left) even though I added no FDR.
Last night I got around to cleaning their pen because it was long overdue. I set up their playpen downstairs, threw all of their bedding in a laundry hamper, swept up loose litter, picked up some tiny meat leftovers here and there, wiped down their food area with rubbing alcohol and vacuumed everything up. Then I put them back in and gave them fresh bedding. They don't have their cuddle cup back yet so they'll probably be missing it until I get it washed. They have a few nice places they can sleep so I don't feel too guilty about it. After I got them settled, I gave them their quail dinner.
I might go back to adding a little bone meal broth to their organ meals, it helps keep their stools firmer and I also know they'll be getting enough calcium.
