I know some of you use those plastic easter eggs in your dig boxes for your ferrets to play in and I was really hoping I could get some on sale, left-over from Easter, but I can't seem to find them anywhere So my Mom suggested using those plastic balls that you find in kid's ball pits instead. Would this work? Or would they be too big and would the ferrets get lost in them? Here's the kind of plastic balls I mean: www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3146466

I used ball pit balls in a laundry basket-they are quite fun for the little ones-until somebody pees in it. (Shiloh was the culprit) At least, if accidents happen, you can hose them down.

I got a bunch of those plastic easter eggs at the dollar store and the ferrets didn't really go for them. I also got shredded stuff for baskets (eco-paper) after at a sale, they liked that better.

Otterwoman, it's crazy how different ferrets can be. I too got both, mine prefer the Easter eggs.

They are definitely all individual. Sinnead always preferred the packing peanuts, Suki the leaves, Vincent the rice, Lucrezia, Boris and Willow the shredded paper ;D Miss Emily likes the easter eggs.

I went out the day after easter and bought tons of plastic easter eggs, filled half of them with rice, and put them in a rubbermaid. Put MoJo in and....! No go. He's CONVINCED they're trying to eat him alive BUT I did put easter grass with a few eggs filled with rice in and he LOVES it. Now, this dig box is SUPERVISED ONLY! As much as he shows NO interest in eating the grass, I don't take the chance. I'm going to try a rice dig box next
