I'm not trying to push you into anything you're not ready for, but think about it for a minute. A chicken wing is bone-in, so good for 12-24 hours. It takes a couple of hours to thaw completely even at 80 degrees, so that gives you a good 14-26 hours. Besides which, raw fed ferrets don't need to eat every 4 hours or so like kibble ferrets. Being young, Puck can easily go 10-12 hours without food if necessary. So either way, he'll be fine. Kibble is just a crutch for YOU; Puck sure doesn't need it, lol. I know, I'm horrible! I just had a bad experience leaving some chicken in his bowl over night (he tends to eat late at night when he free roams) and I woke up to ants EVERYWHERE (I have an ant phobia, and am extremely allergic to their bites, so it traumatized me. This was last night). It didn't happen with the kibble, but you're completely correct. He needs the raw more than I need the security of having kibble. I'll toss the bag tonight, and Puck can war dance in triumph haha

ugh.. ants! Yuck. We had carpenter ants earlier in the summer... the big 1/2 long black ones. everywhere. I used equal parts of powdered sugar and baking soda and left a dish of it in the room for a few hours. I also sprinkled some around the outside of the house. Supposedly the baking soda reacts with the formic acid in their stomachs and kills them, and the powdered sugar convinces them to eat the baking soda. I'm not saying that's what did it, but the ant problem is almost completely gone. It could just be that the darn things are inside the walls of my house, eating away. I'll let you know if my house falls down.. we'll know the baking soda/powdered sugar trick didn't work, lol.

Right now I'm staying at a relatives, with Puck an my son... I raided my whole house and have left it to ventilate and air out for a few days. I also can't go back in the house without crying until I've calmed down. It sounds pathetic, I know, but phobias are pretty ridiculous sometimes. I'm also terrified the ants will kill Puck while he sleeps... He doesn't like his hammock, so I'm terrified he's easy prey! Kibble is going in the trash though... Thirty bucks of cancer going into the trash. Worth it

You could feed it to the birds or the neighborhood cats.. or better yet, donate it to a shelter.

Yay for Puck! I love the idea of playing tug of war that your mentioned at the beginning. Awesome idea! Thank you It was working better than the scruff and stuff method for me. He whines if you scruff him, and makes you pity him! I know it doesn't hurt, but it freaks me out! Haha the little turd So as of right now Puck has been kibble free for two full days!

In that case why not write up a menu here, Mon-Sun format that way we can help you tweak anything necessary

In that case why not write up a menu here, Mon-Sun format that way we can help you tweak anything necessary I did, Sherry Earlier on in this thread! Here it is Monday: AM- Chicken wings PM- Chicken back/neck Tuesday: AM- Pheasant ribs and back PM- Heart and Pheasant/Turkey breast Wednesday: AM- Quail or Cornish Game Hen PM- Hearts Thursday: AM- Chicken wings and liver PM- Pork Rib ends (good?) with egg Friday: AM- Turkey/Chicken neck PM- Heart and chicken breast Saturday: AM- 1/2 heart 1/2 gizzards PM- Chicken breast and kidneys Sunday: AM- Quail or Cornish Game Hen PM- Liver and kidney with gizzards I was told to add more red meat, so I'm gonna add some venison or beef (if I can get him to eat the beef) on Friday night, and instead of Quail or hen on Sunday Morning I'm going to start buying mice for him.
