1. Ferret's name: Loki
2. Ferret's weight: 47 ounces (+3 ounces since the last weigh in on 8/1. He was 39-40 ounces when I began on 7/18)
3. Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal: He is back to eating a cup of soupie a day. He still likes it thin but is starting to show some interest if there is a little "chunkiness" to it. He still gets an occasional piece of FD liver. He got his raw egg yolk this past Sunday, but didn't finish it.
4. Stools on various proteins: Overall normal for being on a completely raw diet. He had some lighter colored stool after I gave him some plain turkey. (I didn't have access to any organ meat for a day).
5. Activity levels: Extremely active! I am hoping to take him to a park today. Last night he discovered how to climb his cage and attempted to leap onto my book shelf. Let's say his cage was promptly moved. He also is great at finding granola bars I forgot at about.
6. Weekly menu: He has finally warmed up to the duck! Evidently he likes it better when it was frozen. Or maybe because I washed the bowl with really hot water so it was warmer over all? I'm just glad he ate it... twice!

So... Loki is eating another ferret's kibble? He has been seeking out more things that are not good for him to eat. (Like the rat's food and granola bars.) Should I offer more raw food?

Is he eating his friend Pond's food? If other food, like Granola bars are around, he will smell them and try to eat them, whether he is full or not. (unlike, the healthier choices, that they turn their noses up). However, try putting more food in his bowl. You will know Loki is full, if he leaves some in his bowl. In my free roam house, I know they're full, when they start running off with food to stash.
You mentioned that he doesn't seem to like his egg yolks, as much anymore. Try whipping an egg with some warm water and then pour it over some ground pork or ground turkey or even ground beef. That's a favorite with all of mine.
You've been making some great progress, do you want to try to build a menu and follow that. (I'll be glad to help and so will the other Mentors). That way, you know that Loki is getting his variety and organs in the right amounts. I found that when I built a weekly menu and then offered the same foods, mine got use to their menu and began to eat better.

He is eating Pond's food. I gave him some raw soupie and he ignored it. So I'm not sure what is going on there. I would love (and appreciate) any help I can get. I have been trying to rotate between beef, chicken, and turkey; with chicken hearts and beef liver for organs. Not counting the duck with full organ addition that he gobbled down just this morning. I made extra soupie this week so hopefully I can follow a menu better. I love the idea of the yolk on the meat and will try that this weekend.

BTW my friend and I both were really touched that you remembered Pond. <3

So Loki ate nothing but kibble yesterday. We're home now and away from tempation, so hopefully he'll go back to eating his raw easily. It makes me wonder if he has done this every weekend we were over there and it was just a matter of not being caught? I think he might have been mad because he didn't get out as much as he usually does.
I'll report what happens tonight when we get back from the park.

So good news... last night Loki got his normal 4 oz of soupie (beef muscle and beef liver). When I got up at almost 6 am, he had only consumed 2 oz. Before going to work I put down 4 oz of poultry (turkey muscle and chicken hearts I believe). When I came home at 4:30 it was completely gone. He had licked the bowl clean. I was really happy to see that. (dance) On a side note. We had a blast at the park which was way over due. We stayed about 45 minutes, during which Loki dunked his head into the water container I brought with us, twice. I was really hoping to take him again today but it's 93 degrees so we're home bound. Hopefully Wednesday will be good, tomorrow is supposed to be thunderstorms. >

I reread your journal and am all caught up. Once you see your official switching thread, we'll post to that, from now on.
Loki is adorable and I'm just super excited to get to learn more about him. We should have alot of fun. :wave2:
