I heard wood and pine are bad for ferrets. Doesn't It mess up their lungs?

Not when it's cured to remove the oils in the wood/wood pulp.

Swheat Scoop and World's Best are the most popular scoop-able litters. I don't know of any more, myself. lol

Is Feline Pine scoopable? I've never actually seen it in person. Clay litters are bad. Worlds Best is made from corn I think, and Swheat Scoop is made from wheat, they have minimal dust, I would say from my experience the dust is comparable to Yesterdays News.
I use Swheat Scoop, it was the cheapest, and I love it. Being scoopable is a bonus cause I don't waste nearly as much as I did with Yesterdays News, which was my biggest complaint. Also the poo just sits on top, which I didn't like either.

There is feline pine, but it tracks worse than the others ;D Just a warning- as handy as scoopable litters are, they WILL track. And it's the clay scoopables that aren't safe for fuzz. Not just the dust from them, but when they clean their paws, etc, they ingest some, which swells in the stomach, and can cause a blockage. That, and if they get stuck on their bottoms, they can cause severe irritation, because they dry so hard.

What Sherry said I knew about the swelling my mind just blanked out on the others.

I just switched to swheat scoop last week, it's made a world of a difference. I was using Care Fresh that came with my ferrets when I got them, stuff was horrible and goopy I would just trash the entire thing each time I went to clean it.

I didn't even know you could use that as litter... lol. I thought it was just used to line cage as an additional bedding or padding for the bottom of the cage. It's really not good for their lungs. That stuff is ultra dusty.

And I'm actually using the SS multicat, and am NOT overly fond of it. I've found by the end of the week, the boxes need soaking because it's stuck to the bottom And I scoop twice a day!

It might just be the shape of my box or scooper, but that happens to me with both WB and SS. SS is cheaper, and I add a bit of baking soda to help odor control. I also scoop twice a day

It's never happened with the WB for me. Just the SS. And not as badly with the original SS either, as with the multi ;D

I switched to SS multicat about 3 weeks ago (thanks to this thread ) and I really don't think I'll ever be able to go back to pelleted. With Yesterday's News, I'd buy the biggest bag possible (30lb or something like that) and was going through the entire thing in a month. I have a 17 (was meant to be 14 but its one of those GET 3 LBS FREE!! bags) lb bag of SS multicat and haven't even used half of it over the course of three weeks.. and I have two babies that poop a LOT. Plus it was cheaper.. $8 for a bag of SS multicat that will last me longer than a month vs $15 for a bag of YN that hardly lasted me a month. Oh, and it's easier to scoop. And less smelly. Why did I ever use pelleted?? As for tracking.. well, I bought one of those cat tracking mats and put it just outside their pan and it works wonders. I think it was about $10 at Target. I haven't yet run into the issue of the clumps sticking to the bottom of the pan, but that could be because I put quite a bit of it in the pan perhaps? Anywho.. I hereby retract my vote for YN and cast it for SS.
