Haha that's awesome I was JUST making one when I saw yours. Newspaper is another one you could add to the poll. For those of you voting could you please also say what you like about the current litter you are using and what you don't like. That way us newbies can get a good picture of what's best! Thanks!

The swheat scoop is scoopable, manages odor well, is cheaper then the world's best, and my guys are a lot more consistent with it than when we used a pellet-type litter. They also include a coupon in every bag, save up 12 and get one bag free....granted, in over a year I've only bought six . I think the only down sides are it tends to track if I dont keep fabric around the litterboxes to catch it, and sometimes it clumps really hard to the bottom of the pan (more of an issue with the cats since they pee more), I switched to a metal scooper after cracking a cheap plastic one.

WB litter gets tracked just as much. IMO SC controls odor FAR better than WB but you HAVE to get the MULTICAT kind. WB litter smells funky when it gets wet (pee). I have tried WB+SC as well and while I like that better than just WB or just SC single cat, I like SC Multicat better than all of the above. So in short: Swheat Scoop MULTICAT >>>> SC+WB > WB>>>>>>>pelleted litter. Regardless of the litter I use, I add in baking soda to help with odor control even more. Some people also use activated carbon (like you get for fish tanks), or activated carbon+baking soda.

I use puppy pads, they are easy to clean and I can clean them fast before they stink. - this was also good after sly had surgery / got sick and couldn't hoist himself up like he used to beable to =[
Sly was good and didn't see them as a toy, unlike some ferrets here.
Before that I used Yesterdays news, and Wood stove pellets (very saw-dusty once wet)

I use both swheat scoop and world's best, and far prefer WBCL for the same reasons katt likes SS ;D To MY nose, better odour control, doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan like SS(haven't yet tried the multi cat formula. Actually I haven't seen the multi where I buy it, and have been too lazy to go look elsewhere ;D

Right now I use WBCL...love the fact that it clumps. Before that I used YN, but you end up wasting more because you really can't effectively scoop through it, you really just have to dump it. But I have to agree with Katt ...to me, the WB smells waaaay weird when MoJo pees on it. I haven't tried SS yet, but that's what I'm trying next (:

Thanks everyone for the input! I'm still on the fence and I guess I'll have to try em both, question is which do I want to try first? Can we get pictures of what the texture looks like for these? Do you have much problems with the ferrets thinking it's a dig box? Jude was digging in the litter, the new girl did too, but since the new pan, and since they started using it they don't seem to be interested in digging in it. I'll have to make a rice dig box soon so they know the difference.

I just use feline pine, its what walmart has that will work for my guys. I go through alot of litter.. 40lbs every week just about. I like the way feline pine smells, it does track but I've yet to find one that doesnt track and doesnt stink.
I do find that I have to scoop the dust out,the girls don't like having it stick to their feet. Little princesses.. all of them!

Kahlua wont let me have litter in the house. A while ago we were taking care of a stray cat and I couldnt put a box in the house for him because she would freak over the litter. She doesnt like it for some reason, she takes it and pushes it out of boxes/cages/pans etc. and tries to burry it in the carpet... she doesnt care weather its been used or not before she does this either. It was a disgusting mess. Instead, we use puppy pads in the bottom of the cage and carpet protecters in their bedroom
