So I went to Petco for a litterbox, little did Hubby know I wanted to travel the hour just to see the ferrets but he agreed thinking I was just going stir crazy in the house and wanted to get out. Oh boy was he in for a surprise. I loved on him the whole way there, just making sure he knew I loved him if I left with another ferret.
So we get to Petco, and the same bunch is there that was there when I brought Jude to buy some supplies the day I got him. I had my eye on this dark little girl (at the time I didn't know it was a girl) and I stopped and stared at her, I noticed this little silver mitt girl too, she was so pretty. I saw a lady pass by and asked if I could hold one, she told me due to them being susceptible to diseases and such I could only hold one if I was serious about buying one. I thanked her and went to find the litter box I came here for. I stopped back at the display, the dark girl I had eyed was awake now, she went right to the door and tried to stick her nose through the crack and smell me. I melted and had to hold her, I stood there for about another five to ten minutes and the same lady came back around with keys, she apologized and said "How could I say no, which do you want to hold?" I told her either the cute silver mitt or the sable, whichever came to the door first. Both of them dodged to the door and popped out before the other ferrets had a chance to think about it.
I held them both, they were cuddly, I checked, both girls. I was destined to get a girl! I really thought I would end up with another boy... I'd never had a girl before. I held them and they cuddled for a bit, but the dark girl wanted to go to the caretaker, so I held the silver, she gave me kisses and nuzzled my chin, she even licked my ear lobe while snuggling. I stared at my husband obviously in love, he told me no about six seven forty times? I gave him my best puppy dog pout, he replied "Next month." I told him she wouldn't last, she was too cute and snuggly, she wouldn't be here next month. Both the caretaker and Hubby tried so hard to tell me that there would probably be littler babies there next month, I didn't care I wanted her. I tried again when Hubby told me we had to go. "Pretty pretty please..." -best puppy dog pout- he reached over and pet her, he was hooked! He sighed and maybe cursed under his breath and said "Ok." The caretaker skipped off with her, to get her papers in order.
I have NEVER in all my life, ever bought an animal from a pet store. I hated myself for not bringing the pet carrier, but that would have given it away. She rode the hour home on my lap in a box, she even pooped in a corner that leaked onto my pants, I didn't complain. I smiled all the way home.
On the way home two police cars zoomed past us with their sirens on, great on the small mountain road, the only way home, there had to have been an accident, this meant she was going to get stuck in my lap in a box for an extra hour most likely, luckily it was a car that went into the ditch on the RIGHT side of the road, the side where it had houses and the likes and NOT the side that would lead to a timely death over the edge of the mountain, it was a car flipped upside down. No delays, and we headed home.
I washed her cause she smelt bad, then introduced her to Jude when she got to explore the cage and the room (where I introduced them) first. Jude is trying awfully hard to pin her by the back of the neck, they seem to get along, she holds her own. Jude just wants to rough house and she wants to explore, no squealing, no blood. Things are going good.
I need help with named! Hubby wants to call her Dahlia... I don't think I like it.
Here she is! Tell me if I'm right, silver blaze with mitt and bib?
When they settle down, I'll try to get better pics of her, they are all hyped up.
