Good point! And if there are more oils there, it makes sense that any dirt will "stick" more.

Dog's feet smelly corn-chippy too. I read somewhere that it's from the bacteria that naturally grows on their pads.

Hi sherry often they produce more oils during breeding season and it simply sticks to the feet ( some of my whole stinky males even get what I call sweat balls lol ( it looks like small balls of gunky brownish wax stuck on the hair shafts lol ) if they get these wet the result is a dirty brownish tinge to where ever got wet lol I am not into bathing but if you gently rub a little soapy cloth over his feet you will probably see a yellow/brown colour appear on the cloth you got yourself a sexed up baby lol take care bye for now crazy lady

A sexed up NEUTERED baby ;D And yes, I've already done that, and yes, the colour comes off I'm pretty sure it had to do with his adrenal disease.

Back to the ear cleanning...I have a question. Rowdy tries to get away from me if I even try to look in his ears!! How do I clean them when he doesn't want me near them?

Does he have a buddy? Try putting some oil in his ears and let a friend lick them clean.
Other options: 1) scruff and clean 2) distract with oil and clean

I always wind up scruffing and cleaning. Only thing that seems to work.

Here's a video with showing how to do a good scruff:
And no, he won't hate you for it! I get mine used to scruffing on a regular basis, because this is what the vet will do during an examination.

I scruffed, he wiggled, I rescruffed and tried to clean, he tried to get away, I struggled to clean.....ended up using the "burrito" on him. Only his little head was sticking out and that was a little better. His ears were really dirty (rusty color), but I didn't over do it since this was probably his 1st time. I'll work on them a little more tonight! Hopefully, we can make this part of our routine and it will get better! Thanks for the advice!

It doesn't hurt to "practice" scruffing at other times either. Just make sue to treat afterwards. One of our little ones couldn't even be scruffed enough for a vet visit. She'd scream and panic. So we'd scruff lightly, then give a treat.
