Just checked my page- I'm sorry I thought you said I could just give you a weekly rundown. Yes I am still trying with them! If you want more often I can do that.
I checked weights yesterday, Sophie is at 1 lb 14 oz and Annie is 1 lb 15 oz. So they have gained back some weight. I made more soupie this week, turkey and lamb. What a production! And a mess. Here is the report, and I will check in more often
WED 9/3
AM 2/3 oz chicken soupie,10 small pieces of chicken PM1 0z veal soupie, 8 pieces of veal, some larger(~1/3 inch)
THURS 9/4
AM 2/3 oz veal soupie, 5 pieces of pork. PM 1.25 oz NV rabbit, no pieces of meat
FRI 9/5 AM 1/2 egg, 1/3 oz NV rabbit PPM 1 oz Rad Cat chicken & 1/2 oz NV chicken( she cleaned up the rad cat so I gave her more)
SAT 9/6 AM 1 oz NV rabbit, 10 pieces chicken PM 1/2 oz turkey/lamb soupie, which she wasn't thrilled about so I gave her NV rabbit and some turkey pieces she ate just a few (like 3)
SUN 9/7 AM 1 oz NV rabbit, 8 pieces chicken PM 1 oz lamb soupie, 8 pieces of lamb, small
MON 9/8
AM 2/3 oz NV rabbit, 12 pieces lamb PM 2/3 oz turkey soupie, just a few pieces of lamb
TUES 9/8 AM 1 oz turkey soupie, 15 small pieces turkey Haven't eaten dinner yet.
No change in poops, still look normal, Annie seems to be sleeping more, sometimes it takes her a little while to get out of her sleeping cube.
I am keeping track of what I givve Sophie as far as soupie, but she is not liking either too much. Sometimes she eats more on her own, sometimes I hold her. I don't think she likes getting her face and whiskers in the food.
Fri nite Sophie got outside, They stay in their cage for the day but I let them out for a few hours at nite and about 2 hours in the morning. We were eating dinner and I happened to go into the kitchen and saw to my horror the front door was open. I had closed it when I let them out but my husband must have left it open when he came in with our food. She was out for probably an hour, I was crying/yelling for her all over the neighborhood, looking in the sewer, we both had squeaky toys we were squeaking, two crappy flashlights,(got new ones the next day). All of a sudden my husband yells, Here she is! and she had come up the front steps and was waiting at the door! So relieved! I sometimes take her out at nite and she roams around the front and side yards, cleaning her face off in the grass and rolling around in it. Sometimes she just turns around and heads up to the door, hops in when I open the door. Annie bless her heart was upstairs sleeping. Many kisses and hugs later I put them back in their cage.
Will check in ~ Fri if that is ok

Oh my goodness, what a scare Sophie gave you! I can empathize as my yorkie missy got out just about a month ago when a door was left open. I was soo panicked and our minds automatically seem to think the worst. I will clarify the posting requirements - The one week thing is an update on their weights, poops, energy etc. But during the soupie phase we ask every 2 days. Slivers every 3 days and then once you are on pieces once a week is OK. More often is always OK in any situation. I am happy to see some weight gain back That is really encouraging Annie is doing well with eating by the looks of it. I am really glad she has been eating some pieces. How about upping those pieces in terms of the amount given again? Especially with her fav soupies. (rad cat chicken?) Whatever type of soupie she really likes try giving her about a half to half ratio. Still small pieces but I would be curious to how she would do. Try even .5 oz pieces, .5oz soupie. I think she can do it, considering she is good at eating pieces, but if she always gets enough soupie what is the motivation (lazy creatures that way) With Sophie you said she isn't liking either too much. Is that the turkey and the lamb? Is she still doing Ok with the duck? Continue with the ratio you have been using. Don't increase too much yet. Does she like EVOO or another little treat you could sparingly sprinkle on top? Perhaps that will encourage her a little more. But if she is gaining a little back she is obviously eating a sufficient amount. SO that is good.

I was going to say that there actually doesn't seem to be any reason for Miss Annie's eating. Except that about once a week she has a period where she doesn't eat much, and once a week there's a day where she eats a lot. Currently she does not like the Rad Cat (figures, I just bought another container of it)and is in her not eating phase.: She really doesn't seem to like EVOO and it almost seems she is turning her nose up at the salmon oil. One nite I even dumped some ferretone on the chunks of meat but that didn't work. Maybe she's smarter than I thought.....
WED night she ate over an ounce of NV lamb and about 10 1/4 " size pieces of chicken. Today she ate maybe 1/2 oz chicken soupie and 3 rather small pieces of chicken. So far tonite she has avoided her dish.
Sophie doesn't seem to like the lamb or the turkey, I'm adding about 1/3 oz to her duck, along with either a 1/2 tsp of baby food or carnivore care. I usually still have to hold her or at least spoon feed some to her. If I leave it in the cage Annie eats it. Tomorrow they are having quail eggs for the first time. I think its a 50/50 chance they'll eat them, since they are new.
I will add more pieces, I usually cut up 15-20 pieces in varying sizes and freeze them, if Annie doesn't eat them often one of my cats will.

Well for her to have eaten 1/4 inch pieces that's pretty good. I'd she ate ten i think 15 would be a good next step. She is obviously telling you she does not want to take it to fast. So, increasing in the grinds it will be. Does Sophie like either oil? With Sophie I want you to start weaning her off of being held. So start small. Start by rather than having her on your knee print bet beside you. Still have contact with her, a hand on the back or just touching. Over a span of a week it so try to get her so she will eat beside you with no contact. Eventually we want her eating on net own in the cage, or wherever u want to feed her. But take it slow, as we don't want Annie choosing her food. When u fed Sophie before she had her reactions was there a protein She liked? Continue adding the lamb and turkey like you have been. If there is one you notice she is eating better (ex the turkey mix) start adding a little more. The reason I was asking about another protein is to see if there was something else she liked that we could incorporate. Did she like the rad cat chicken? If there is something you think she liked perhaps it's time to try another protein. Start by a small mix in with the duck so you can watch for any reaction to it. If there is nothing else you can remember her liking, stick to what your doing.

Thurs nite annie did not eat anything. (lamb soupie with turkey pieces) Friday morning I gave them quail eggs; sophie ate 2 and annie ate maybe 1. Laat nite Annie ate ~1/2 oz NV chicken with probably 10 smaller pieces of turkey. This morning she didn't eat anything, I gave her a little heavy cream. She seems more lethargic-just lies in her bed with her head sticking out the hole. I'm wondering if this is the start of insulinoma. If she doesn't change by Mon I think I will make an appt for her.

I agree an appt might be a good bet. I would steer clear of any cream though. If she is "off" in her behavior I would avoid dairy. If she is being lethargic try a little of her fav food without pieces and even hand feed a little to get her going. She seems to like Sophie's duck, maybe a little of that, or even some carnivore care if her poor eating continues. Keep me updated. Annie is quite a girl that keeps us on our toes when it comes to her eating habits!

Both Annie and Sophie were quite active last nite;(YAY!) I kept them in the lower part of the house with me and Annie played in some tubes, ran around and danced a bit. She ate about 1/2 oz again, and the same thing this morning. Last nite it was NV chicken without pieces and the same thing this morning. With a bit of carnivore care. I will add some pieces tonite. (it's chicken soupie, a little Rad Cat chicken and lamb pieces. The soupie is kind of light/thin) Again tho, I am hard pressed to see any pattern with her- one day she eats something and the next she won't. I am giving Sophie 1/2 oz duck with ~0.15 oz soupie which she eats pretty well alone(but still with either Carnivore Care or some baby food mixed in) and when she finishes that I give her the rest of the duck. That way she's getting used to the new taste and I don't end up tossing a bunch of food. I do plan on increasing the soupie amounts. At this point before I was thinking she might be sensitive to chicken; there really wasn't anything that stood out that she seemed to prefer. Except eggs. I made veal soupie once, I could try that again but I'll have to make more. I took a very nasty fall off my horse today and am feeling very drained and tired. It's hard to think about making anything right now.

Oh, yikes. I hope you are feeling better soon. It is definitely better for you to rest and recuperate.
Annie is a tricky girl.
Am I understanding right - 0.15 oz of soupie? How much approx is that? a tsp? I can't envision such a small amount except in terms of measurements like spoons.
I'm glad Sophie is eating some alone. Just slowly cut back on the carnivore care/ baby food. But it is OK for her to have some to help boost the taste for now. I was thinking her sensitivity was pork? Isn't that when she had her symptoms?

I would guess it's about a teaspoon. When I make soupie, I drop some on wax paper and freeze it-thaws quicker. I weighed it, but next time I'll try measuring it, at least eyeballing it. Sophie is doing better eating on her own, and Annie's appetite has increased. :Sun nite she ate all of that mix, so that was a little over an ounce. Mon. she ate all in the morning( chicken soupie, rad cat chicken and 10 pieces of turkey. Mon. nite she had 1 oz lamb soupie but didn't eat any of the veal pieces. But she ate by herself. So today she will probably go on a hunger strike again.
The first bout of bloody stool with Sophie I thought might have been from chicken, but I see where I gave (and am giving her) chicken based baby food or carnivore care. Definitely will stay away from pork. Or what about rabbit? I had gotten 1 Wysong Rabbit Dream Treat which no one seemed very interested in until Sun. nite when Sophie grabbed it and ran off with it. I gave her a few small pieces and she ate it; yesterday I found the empty bag on the floor-don't know if a ferret ate it or my piggy cat did. But I do have NV rabbit. If I can get out today I will go see if the natural foods guy ordered more dream treats but I'm still having trouble moving around from my fall. Will try and weigh them later today.

Well, I was off by half a day. Tues. morning Annie ate all the 1.2 oz of lamb soupie and rad cat chicken. But barely ate any of the lamb soupie/turkey pieces at nite. This morning she ate about 1/2 oz turkey soupie but only 4 pieces of larger turkey pieces. So far tonite she quickly ate a little NV rabbit and a few pieces of turkey, but is off probably sleeping in my bedroom now. Sophie got into the cat food this morning but I came back at noon to give her her duck, of which she ate about 1/2 oz. Tonite I gave her turkey soupie straight with some baby food mixed in; (~ 1/3 oz, very dilute) she ate all of that but I'm still waiting for her to finish the duck.

The fact that Sophie ate some turkey is awesome! ! Even if it was dilute. I agree, avoid pork. I think you will have enough proteins to not bother with it. I think it was the culprit. You could do rabbit or chicken. The reason I thought chicken is I thought I remember her liking it. It would be great to find something well liked so it may be used to help cut back on the baby food and carnivore care. Has she had rabbit? If not and she liked chicken try feeding her a little straight chicken. If that's not a hit try finger feeding it to encourage. If still not a hit try adding some baby food to it. And if she is liking the turkey ok try feeding it with just a bit of baby food on top. Try not mixing. I found a topper could get them eating (yummy stuff on top) and them once they hit the food underneath they just keep eating. It has worked for me I'm curious with a milder food if Sophie would try that. I'm glad the both have been eating well. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I am starting to regain some of my energy and momentum. Couldn't move around well for a few days. The beat goes on here, Annie is playing "guess what I won't eat today even if I ate it yesterday", Sophie is doing OK..On Thurs AM they both had quail eggs; Annie had about 1.5, Sophie ate 2. They are sooo tiny! By weight they're about 1/8 the weight of a chicken egg, if that. Thurs nite Annie ate most of her chicken soupie, but only a few small pieces of pork. I had put in 20 small and 4 larger. I thought she liked pork, but doesn't seem to now. Sophie had lamb soupie and duck, most of an ounce Thurs nite. I rarely have to hold her or spoon feed her now. Fri. AM Annie ate 1/2 oz Rad Cat chicken , 5 small pieces of pork. Fri nite Annie ignored the 20 pieces of chicken I added to her turkey soupie but ate most of the soupie. Sophie got into the cat food again Fri morning, I came back at lunch and gave her some duck, which she lapped up hanging out of her sleeping cube. Fri nite Sophie ate about 1/2 oz duck and turkey mixed. This morning Annie barely ate any Rad Cat chicken, I guess I should stay away from that for a while. But she did seem to enjoy the freeze dried chicken pieces I put in for her later. This morning Sophie ate ~1/2 oz turkey soupie/baby food and then some duck, maybe 1/3 oz.
As it gets cooler, can I leave the uneaten pieces of meat in for Annie's next meal? Or am I being lazy/cheap? Or stupid-if she didn't eat it before, why would she eat it later... Oh. I weighed them Wed. nite: Sophie is back to 2 lbs(gained 2 oz) Annie stayed at 1 lb 15 oz.

You can leave their soupie in their cage for about 8 hours So no, it's not lazy to leave their food. I only feed 2x a day, even on days I feed commercial raw. I leave the NV in in the morning until their evening meal. Their weights are looking good - so that is awesome. Oh silly Annie- being so stinking picky! Lol. I know she ate pork before, so maybe she was just being lazy with the pieces. Perhaps try cutting them just a tad bit smaller. Silly girl. I am so glad that Sophie is eating more turkey and lamb. Keep increasing the lamb so that she will start accepting it as a meal on its own. But she is eating 3 balanced proteins now, so she is really doing well. And I'm so glad she will eat more independently! Keep up the awesome work! Tell annie her mentor said stop being such a little drama queen/ pita! lol. I'm really glad to hear you are feeling better as well. That's awful to be laid out for days.

There isn't much to report today, Annie did not eat any of the NV rabbit/40 small pieces of turkey I gave her last nite; this morning she ate maybe 1/4 oz rabbit, but was very interested in some freeze dried chicken breast. You said to soak it first- for how long? I also tried to give her some Carnivore Care soup but she didn't eat that either. I gave Sophie 2 quail eggs which she polished off. Both are active, in fact Annie was sprinting around in the family room the other nite, climbing up the couches, jumping from one to the other(I had shut them in there while we ate dinner) and today she was playing with me for a while. So I don't know what's going on with her
