Well I have the required 15 posts so I will be filling out the app for a mentor. Woot! Hope to do that this weekend. In the meantime, I have actually been feeding Max and BC soup for about 3 weeks now. I started with giving them the standard chicken soup (chicken, chicken heart, chicken liver, and eggshell) just in the evenings during the first week. Max loved it from the start but BC had to be convinced, but after a day or two she bellied up to the plate with Max. The second week I started giving them the soup both morning and night. This week, I shook things up a bit. I made a new batch of soup using chicken, and beef heart, liver and a smidge of kidney. <Side note...I don't consider myself squeamish, but cutting up the beef liver, kidney, and heart was kinda gross - pioneer woman I am not.> Anyways, they were a little unsure at first but after a few minutes Max dove right in. BC had to be convinced again. I am also leaving the leftover portions in the cage with them when I go to work and asking someone at home to remove the plate around noon. The plates have been clean when removed. A couple of hurdles I already see. First, when BC wants to run off to the feeding den with a tidbit, she gets distracted and doesn't come back. Second, my record keeping abilities need work. I have a handful of post-it notes with numbers written all over them and have forgotten what they all mean. /sigh Oh! and I also went to a butcher shop and bought a whole frozen rabbit, a pound of goat, and a pound of lamb. All that is sitting in my freezer with the bags of portioned beef liver, heart, and kidney and chicken hearts and livers. Yum. Should be interesting! A

Sounds like you've got a really solid beginning on which to build! Good job so far!

Woohoo! It sounds like you've got a great start already! I found it helpful to keep notes on how much Remus eats in a binder. At the beginning of each day I wrote the date and then I weigh the dish before and after meals to find out how much he's eating.

Fantastic start! For your little one who runs to the den why not try offering food for her in there instead. It can make a difference
