I wish I could hand feed her every meal! She does eat so much more. She sleeps in my bed a lot I'm just usually not in it. I have a hoard of blankets and pillows so Im sure she enjoys that much burrowing. So I got my cousin into ferrets she now wants one haha! I just told her to make sure she was financially ready for it. Evanna is EXPENSIVE! But I love her anyways and its not like she can help it.

I understand about wanting to feed her every meal. I wonder if she eats more, because of her limited eyesight. I'm going to talk with the Senior Mentors and see what they say. As you know, the problem lies in her eating, when you aren't there to feed her. But like you, I would be tempted to hand feed her, all the time. I'll get back to you on that.
I'll bet she feels safe in your bed, it smells like you and she can feel close to you. I think its so sweet.
Is your cousin close to you? If she got a ferret, Evanna would have a playmate. Do you think your cousin would make a good ferrant? Do you think that she would commit to a ferret and not loose interest? I always love hearing that someone wants to bring a little one home, but since they are such complicated little guys, I really want them to understand the pros and cons.

My cousin and I live pretty close I'm kind of nervous to see how Evanna does with other ferrets. I think my cuz would do fine, she has a dog that she's had for forever and loves her to death. She's an animal lover like me, but she wants to wait until her lease is up in November. Her roommates right now have a daughter whos really rough with animals and an aggressive dog O.O I'll be sure to give her a long lecture on ferret care before she brings one home though

Your cousin, has a roommate with a daughter, that's rough with animals and also has an aggressive dog. That makes me wonder if that would be a good home for a ferret. You know how unhappy they are, when they have too much cage time, and It doesn't sound like it would be safe for the little guy, outside of a cage.
It would be interesting to see how Evanna interacts with other ferrets. Part of me, thinks that she feels safe and secure now, and so I wonder, would being around another ferret stress her, or would she be really happy and have alot of fun, getting to play ferret games with another little one.
I have read where sometimes, a blind ferret will really thrive with a bonded friend, who "protects" them. I guess it really would depend on the personality of the other ferret, Evanna meets and interacts with. Just like us, we meet people we really like and then we meet people, that we can't get along with.
My Ponce was an only ferret. We tried a few playdates and he was more interested in exploring than playing with the other ferret. Now that I have four and see them play, bond and sleep together...I really wish that Ponce had known that kind of joy. I remind myself that he didn't know any different, and he was Loved. We spent all our time together and he was free roam, but still...

Thats why she wants to wait until her lease is up. She doesnt want a fert in that crazy house.
I'm kind of torn about getting Evanna a friend.... I really dont want another farm ferret because theyre just not healthy so I was thinking of just saving up for a year and getting a breeder kit next summer. She's been alone her whole life and like Ponce I'm sure she doesnt really know.

(dance) You just made my afternoon. Dancing and Dooking, don't you just feel all full of happiness, when you see her do that?
That's great about her dinner. I really think all this activity is helping her appetite. I've been meaning to ask you, does she have Grapetail yet?

Oh and I heard back from the Senior Mentors. Heather has a little one who doesn't eat well. So she hand feeds him, and they spend time together. She said she know that he will eat on his own, so she's not worried about being gone and having him go hungry. Its just that he eats more, with her.
Sherry said that you could do half and half, for example feed breakfast and let her eat her own dinner.
So, I'm thinking if you want to hand feed her, go ahead. I think it'll be good for her and a great bonding time for you two. Maybe during her dinner, when you are hand feeding her, lower the spoon and see if she continues to eat on her own, while you sit there with her. It might be a security thing, since she can't see, she knows that you are there to protect her and feels safe while eating.

She's still pretty stinky not as bad as when I first got her, but its noticeable when shes in the car or if you directly smell her. Her bouncing around the house was the best I love seeing her like that and she went on for a good 15 min or so. Hopefully I'll see more of that side of her now that she seems to have settled in. Okay Ill try hand feeding her more often. She just gets really distracted and wants to go see other things. Definitely a grazer

I'd let her graze as much as she wants. That probably is part of her feeling safe and secure, hence the dancing and dooking.
She's also still detoxing, the smell will go away and then you'll get the Grapetails.
Have you tried playing in some water with her? You can fill up a shallow large bin or tub and let her splash a little. I like to blow bubbles in the water, with a straw. Mine go crazy and get all silly.

I've tried the hose, but she doesnt like it much Ill try filling up a bin and maybe she'll like that more Will she get grapetail since she's an adrenal ferret? I read somewhere that they dont usually get it with adrenal I think.

I honestly don't know. We'll have to ask around. I know some people have talked said that their ferrets smell like corn chips. good question!

So my boyfriend and I noticed something last night! Her fur used to be kind of coarse and hard, but we were petting her last night and I noticed that except for on her tail her fur is very soft now not quite like bunny fur, but we're getting close She also let me scratch her tummy (she normally doesnt like that) and it was so funny! Her head went up and she started kicking her leg like a dog LOL She also only really smells around her face and neck area (around the scent glands right?) I smelled her all over last night hehe. The rest of her just kind of smells like a light musk, but not really like corn chips

Shes really not a fan of ground meat. I got her to eat a little last night, but she wasnt very interested. She did however wake me up this AM by crawling on the bed and biting my legs. Is that normal behavior? Because it did not feel very good and she almost got kicked (I get a little violent when I'm woken up)and I didnt realize it was her.
