she ate about half of it, but she goes back periodically and snacks. Is that okay for her to be grazing like that?

Yes, it's okay. I prefer to leave food out for mine to eat, as they need to. Evanna especially should get to graze. She's just beginning her raw switch and quite often, they eat alot more, to make up for the lack of nutrients from the kibble. What did she have for breakfast?

I went thru all our posts, reviewed them and then built a notebook, so that I could keep track of her progress. Evanna (and Mom) are doing quite well. Would you please build a new menu for the week and post it?
On May 14th, Evanna weighed 1.25lbs and on May 29th, you reported that she weighed 1.5lbs. That's terrific. Can you take a picture of her, (from above and one where she is being held up) and post that, also.
So far, Evanna has had organ soup, some thymus, one egg (?) or two? She tried pork bone and spit it out, chicken liver, chicken heart, pork soup, CGH, chicken thigh, ground turkey, chicken wing, chicken neck, chicken breast ground beef and beef kidney. Sounds good. Did I leave anything out?
We started our official thread on the 29th of May. Any questions or concerns?

MENU Monday AM-bone in: chicken wing PM- ground beef (might mix this with ground turkey) Tuesday AM-chicken hearts PM-bone in: chicken neck ( I promise I'll remember to defrost them D:)
Wednesday AM- organ soup (chicken liver and beef kidney) + hearts PM- bone in: cornish hen
Thursday AM- bone in: chicken wing PM- bone in: quail (hopefully I'll be able to fine some this weekend)
Friday AM- bone in: cornish hen PM- chicken thighs
Saturday AM- organ soup (half liver, half beef kidney) maybe some heart? PM- bone in: cornish hen
Sunday AM- ground turkey with egg PM-bone in: chicken neck
I hope its okay if I keep using the same menu D: I just replaced a couple things, but this menu has seemed to work pretty well so far. I was hoping to maybe split her heart organ meal between two? She really doesnt like kidney and its easier to get her to eat it if theres some heart in there.
I apologize in advance for the crappy picture quality. I have a crappy camera phone, but I'll be able to post some better ones on sunday when I'm with my boyfriend.

Your menu looks good. Its a little poultry heavy, I would like to see some pork, somewhere. Ferrets have been known to suddenly dislike chicken or develop a sensitivity to something. So, we want some other option, like pork. You have beef kidney and ground beef and that's good. Beef is rich in iron. Alot of people get all caught up in exotic variety, and that's okay. In the beginning, though, when we are working on bone and getting Evanna use to eating this new raw food, I think it works well to let her get familiar with some of the same foods (make sense) and worry about variety and introducing more exotic items, a little later down the road. she looks good in her pictures. She's a small, slight female, but seems healthy and she isn't too thin. When you hold up a ferret and let them dangle, they should hang straight down. There should not be a "waistline". She's such a good girl, and such a sweetheart. Give her an extra hug from me. She's a funny little thing, we haven't seen her get into any mischief yet. She will though. In the meantime, though, we know that she feels happy, safe and secure and is building a good bond and has learned to trust you.

Okay I'll put pork in there somewhere I thought maybe quail might be an interesting bone in meat for her. Is it okay if I split her half heart meal into the two organ days? She doesnt get into trouble O.O it kind of scares me because I feel like she's going to suprise me one day and get her head stuck somewhere or eat a roll of toilet paper or something I suppose I should just be grateful that she's well behaved.

Yes, you can split the hearts into the organ meals. Just make sure that she still gets one full meal of hearts (muscle meat) during the week.
Trouble and mischief are two different things. Let's hope that she never gets into trouble, but I fully expect a little mischief, somewhere down the line. She might decide to hide your favorite shoe, or destroy a roll of paper towels or even throw a tantrum. (dance)

Aww...that's cute. I hate to be a party pooper, but they are a rubbery material and chewable. I think you would be safer to put them up and away. Even a non chewer can accidentally swallow some of it and you will have a very scarey blockage. I'm sorry to spoil her fun. (shy)

I think she has ups and downs with eating. Somedays she's pretty hungry and somedays she's not. Oh I also I barely put her in her cage anymore lol just when I'm leaving the house. She seems to like it and last night she slept in bed with me for a little bit and I didnt squish her!

That's just makes me so happy. I love hearing that she gets out and about, and is happy and busy. I think they are just like us, some days, they just don't feel very hungry. She's getting alot better food and more nutrients. Plus she's working up an appetite and will make up for it, at another meal. Funny about the organ soup, that was our breakfast this morning and everyone wanted to sit on my lap and get hand fed. They do eat alot that way and a little spoiling, can't hurt. That's quite the compliment, that Evanna feels secure enough with you, to sleep in your bed.
