About a week ago we noticed Lincoln lying on top of Riley, though he wasn't humping. Today I saw Booth humping Riley. Why are they both showing signs at the same time, and only with one girl and not the other or both? Booth and Lincoln are a couple months apart, but both are only 2 1/2 One adrenal was going to be hard enough, but now there are two...I don't know how we can afford it right now. I always knew we would need to be able to, but I thought I still had a couple years.

Well I hear some ferrets just get hormonal this time of year and start humping, I have not really experienced that myself before this year, last year we had one humper who is adrenal, and now another adrenal male has started but the two non adrenals are also showing a lot of butt sniffing interest that they didn't before but no humping so I don't know if the hormones are flying or what but everyone is acting up. For treatment, I did monthly lupron for awhile, it adds up fast though with multiples, des implant is cheaper and longer lasting if you can get it and both of the adrenal surgeries I've had done ended up on a credit card that I think will never see $0 balance.

The only one Sinnead went after that way was Lucrezia, and she had her pick of 3. Zeus never goes for his bonded cage mate, but went after Suki so consistently, he terrified her. They now have to be separated. As for affording it, I can't, not really. I just work more ;D

Maybe try to work out a deal with your vet, discount for two ferrets?

Well, the two boys are getting so jealous of each other Booth has actually made some puncture holes on Lincoln It sucks because they were the two who were the most bonded. With treatment, will I be able to put them together again? Also, with des treatments, will Adrenal shorten their lives?

You could use some diaper rash creme on the back of their necks (destin). Should deter them

Also, with des treatments, will Adrenal shorten their lives? Unfortunately, yes, most likely. However- Sinnead was between 7 and 8 years old when she developed a large mass. She'd been adrenal for 3 years at that point.

Should deter them This has not helped mine hardly at all, slathered it all over poor Koda and it detered Craven only for a very short period of time, like a day or two, he just moved from neck to ears to side of his face, or he directed his attention to Pandora or Pip. Although it does seem to help his poor neck heal up some, but it also makes them and me smell like babies and feels disgusting! On bad nights we have just separated them out, otherwise I can't get any sleep, in and out rescuing the victims.

Lucrezia was the same way when trying to introduce others to her. Zeus, Athena, and Willow on the other hand, were deterred by it very well. I think it really depends on just how aggressive and determined the attacking ferret is.

Hmm...I might give it a try. Suppose it can't hurt!
I made a vet appointment for the 7th. I don't think I want to go with surgery because I've heard the majority of them only cure it for a year. I'd like to go with the yearly treatment, so we'll see.
They do very well in the cage together though. I know because Jeff hooked a webcam up so wherever we are with a comp, we can go online and look at the webcam.
If we can get the yearly treatment instead of the monthly, we can afford the payments for these 2, and of course their yearly exams, etc.

Hopefully you can get ahold of the DES.
Great idea about the webcam!

Another question, under Lincoln's bite marks is extremely red with lots of small blood dots.
Could this be from fighting or does it sound like any illnesses you've heard of? Someone said it might be fleas irritating his skin, but I have not seen any and do not see any on the ferrets (I combed them and picked through their skin).
Also, what can I put on his back to help the wounds heal or to prevent infection?

Just answered about what to put on it in your other post As for the blood dots, it could be from the trauma of the wounds. Kind of like an abrasion.
