My MF males range from 2 lbs to almost 4 depending on time of year, but the sweet sot for them in general seems to be 2.5-3 lbs. Over 3 lbs seems to be a larger than average MF boy and my little 2 lb 'bino boy is of course somewhat runty. I've only had one Marshall's male, Sumo, that was always over 3 lb, usually 3 /12. A couple were around 2 lbs. their whole lives. But Pandora is right around 3 lbs, having lost some weight.

I've been noting that the Marshals ferrets of the last few years appear to be larger and perhaps they're moving away from those tiny ferrets they were producing 10 or 15 yrs ago. This was when it appeared that they were trying to keep the ferrets small so people wouldn't be put off by kits who were in the petstore longer than 4 to 5 months when kits no longer appear to be kits anymore. ciao

I just saw this post at the top of the pages and fell in love, (sad too). They are the cutest aren't they! If I could afford it right now I would probably have 8 or more. Beautiful (babies & parents) Miss having babies. Two of mine were tiny, probably too young when I got them, sucking on my yr old. Little Guys ears.

My they have gotten big. They are all so adorable. Love Tico's attitude. Is Radagast still getting in trouble with his mother & sisters?

He's a hob so I'm willing to bet on that. He's quite the handsome fellow.

Now that I have Domino, I've been feeling like he is twice the size of Cotton (his ferret). Now it makes sense! I think what I love most about these little guys is that they resemble river otters. Absolutely adore that.

Is it easy to tell them apart (beyond boys/girls), or do you have to look for subtle markers? They are soooo adorable

To tell them apart you look for subtle markers. The girls are almost impossible if you see them on the fly alone. Lady Lola (at the moment) has a larger mask than her daughters, very distinct edging. She's also much tinier (weighs only just a bit over 2 lbs). Boudicca is the smaller of the two girls and has a wicked mask that has upswing eyebrows. Merrida is the larger of the two girls but it's not something that really shows until you pick her up. Her mask is similar to Boudicca's but has a more rounded appearance. Unless you pick the girls up and know the subtle differences, you probably won't be able to tell the two girls apart. Radagast actually looks like Merrida and usually hangs out when they're roaming together ciao
