So I'm kind of a bit of an online shopping spree and I'm a little puzzled as to if these things actually work or not and how? They are the Marshall corner spring deterrents to stop ferrets from going in corners that don't have their litter boxes, I guess? www.ferret.com/item/marshall-corner-deterrent-springs-4-pack/650688/Do they really work? Are they safe? It seems like a good idea in theory? ;D Or am I better off to just put toys/houses/other things in all other corners that they litter boxes aren't in?

My guys if they don't want to use the litter box, back right up to the litter box, where presumably they bump their tails on the litter box. Other than because Marshall's says so (haha ;D) I don't see any feasible reason these would work...

To be honest, I don't see it working. In my opinion, they'll just ignore it. It won't make a difference, but that's just me

My thoughs exactly... is a little tiny spring really going to make them not want to go in that corner? probably not And that's hilarious that they spelt tail wrong. Although that would Ferret.com's doing and not Marshall's haha.

Hmm, I don't see it working either.. I can easily see my ferrets chewing/pulling on it (and getting whacked in the face when it springs back) and possibly getting their fur stuck between the slats..
I tried just putting toys in the corners, they would move them or just poop on the toys. they didn't care. bedding in corners worked best for me, you can buy little beds with clips on them that clip to the side of the cage, or just cut 2 holes in the sides of a soda/beer box and put a blankie in them (to keep it in the corner, I'd poke two tiny holes into a corner and tie it to the cage with a string or zip tie).
keeping the litter box clean is what seems to be the biggest issue for me, I have a great big litter box but they only like using one corner of it. once that's slightly soiled they freak out and want to go elsewhere, so I have to clean it out twice a day (once when I wake up and once before I go to sleep).
