Yay, they ate the meat slivers last night. Should I increase the amount that I put in there bowl last night or leave it the same for the next couple of days. Baby Josie is doing well but I lost a hammock already because she ate one of the ends that holds it up. She is also chewing the fabric things that are covering the ramps. What can I give her to chew on so she is not chewing on the cage and bedding? All of the treats and chews that I have a full of sugar so I really dont want to give her those. She is such a cutie though, its hard to be annoyed with her

Try giving her a chicken wing and see what she does with it As for the others, if they took the mix with slivers with no hesitation, up the amount. You can keep upping it as long as they keep eating it. If they start to turn away, you've pushed a bit too fast, and just reduce the amount to what they'll willingly eat again, and leave it there for a couple of days, then increase more slowly from that point.

It really is! If your baby really likes the wing- don't be too surprised if she "protects" it from the others with hissing and squealing ;D

Aw you have a cloth muncher. I have one of those (Trixie...). A chicken wing (gizzards work well too) can really help give her something to gnaw on. Once they are comfortable eating chicken slivers, start reducing the amount of soup or gravy in the bowl. Your girls are doing so well! Yay!

Yep she is definately a cloth muncher. I am going to have to get a sewing machine and fabric because I can see many ramp covers having to be replaced. Hopefully she will like the chicken wing tonight and that will help with the chewing. I cant wait to get home tonight so I can let the three of them play together.

my husband just called me and said that the soup that I put in there this morning is all gone already chicken slivers and all. I had him take some chicken wings out of the freezer and I am going to try and give one to Josie when I get home. Should I separate her from the other girls first or should I try and give a chicken wing to each of them so Josie doesnt start hissing at them if they come and check out her chicken wing? Not sure how to go about this part.

Just put it in with her and the others. Competition can really make them want something just that much more ;D Grabbing, running with the prize, hissing, squealing, etc. are all perfectly normal. And congrats on the soups/slivers disappearing. Looks like you'll have to start putting in a larger amount ;D You can likely also slightly increase the size of the slivers. Make them maybe twice as big.

Awesome news! Your girls are going so quickly! What size slivers are you using? I'd definitely increase them and add more.
For the chicken wing, Josie might not have any issues with it, but the others might be a bit hesitant.
If they don't know what to do with it, you can chop it up and crush the bone with a hammer (or something similar) and drizzle a bit of soup on the meat pieces.
Good luck and fingers crossed they do well!

OMG I had all of them out last night and I should have named Josie popcorn because she was bouncing up and down and running all over, it was histerical. Her an Jasmine were wrestling and Jessie just curled up in her blanket and went to sleep. She is a nipper though, I picked her up and she bit my wrist. I dont think she meant to hurt me but it really hurt.
The slivers I am using are between 1/4 and 1/2 inch long and pretty thin. I put a chicken wing in there this morning and Josie went right for it and starting chewing on it. I dont think she actually got any meat off of it so I kind of chopped into the meat thinking it might make it easier for her to get it off of the bone. Jamsine and Jessie just sniffed it and walked away. Hopefully the freeze dried I ordered comes in today because I just gave them the last of what I had this morning and I really dont want to give them any kibble.

If they are doing so well with the meat slivers- try them with those alone, see what they think. And yes, slashing into the meat on the wing is a good idea. Never thought to mention it, sorry! I thought, though, that she'd enjoy having something to work on! Leave the wing with her for the day and let her work at it, see how far she can get with the bone.

Well the chicken wings were a no go, they were still in the cage when I got home from work yesterday. I cut up larger slivers of chicken breast this morning and poured a little of the freeze dried soup over the top like gravy so we will see if they eat that today. Josie is doing well and seems to be settling in great. She sleeps with Jesse and plays with Jasmine. She met my cat last night and that was pretty funny because she kept jumping all over him last night and the cat took it pretty well. Josie doesn't like it when you stick your fingers in the cage and try to pet her though, she will bite if we do that. She seems to bite at my husband more than me though so I am not sure if she doesn't like him or what the problem is but hopefully she will grow out of that. Having 3 out to play is definitely more work than having two out. She is so small that she can fit under the couch and she can fit through that bars of the gate that I set up. Her and Jasmine must conspire against us because they will both beeline for the back of the couch so we are constantly chasing them and putting them back in the middle of the living room to play. Who says you need to go to the gym for your exercise, just get three ferrets and you'll be all set

Aw, well they may not be ready for the chicken wing just yet. Do you know if Josie is eating the slivers at all? I hope the larger slivers go well and are gone quickly! Yeah, tiny ferrets are so much trouble! They fit in places you NEVER knew you had I'm glad the kitty tolerates Josie and her antics well Exactly! Who needs a gym. Ferrets - the new at home gym.
