Wonder if they will refund my money for the 20lb case of new Epigen 90 I ordered in early March.

Wow can't believe I missed this discussion!
Fortunately, I still have 1 and 1/2 bags left of the original so I haven't had to try feeding the new formula yet; and in fact was not ever intending on buying it. While Malcolm takes to changes fairly well, Serenity does not and it took me months just to get her to accept Orijen while Malcolm would gobble it up!
Reading through the thread just now really infuriated me. I knew, this change, was not going to be a good change, or that it would go over well for Wysong... I knew it.
I was even more infuriated with Wysong because I had actually written them a letter just a couple months before they had announced the change. In my letter I complimented them on how wonderful their food was, how much our Ferret's enjoyed it, and then offered some suggestions on what they could do to actually improve it a little better.
They wrote back to me, thanking me, but assured me that due to consumer feedback and demand, they had NO PLANS to change their formula!
Then just a couple months later, what did they do? They changed it!
Then reading through the discussion until I saw Uncle Joe's post from earlier today showing that Wysong is now looking at maybe changing it back. I can't say how relieved I am.
I still have one unopened bag, and half of another bag... of the original. Now I am going to try to stretch that out to last a little longer in hopes they come up with something better, more balanced and healthy and get it to market before I run out!

New Update, please read! This was posted by Erinn Whitmore from Mustelamania.com on the American Ferret Association FB page UncleJoe, is she the author of Mustelamania, ferret nutrition, news and Love? I just posted two of her articles. She has some good info.

She does! The other day, when I was looking for info on Taurine. I found alot of ferret related articles. Time and again, somewhere in the article, they would discuss feeding fruits and veggies as part of the ferret diet. That included some articles from Vets. There was good info from some of the college studies, but too technical and very little practical advice. Then again, I found what I was looking for on Omega's from her. So, after perusing maybe 100 articles, she again stood out, in her explanations and practical advice.

I talked to her right after Slinkee came home. In fact, she's probably the one who first discussed raw feeding with me.

Just got a survey from Wysong asking how the switch to the new formula went. Looks like they are keeping the issues on the down low, and trying figure out if they actually have a problem or not. Dear Valued Customer, The newly improved Ferret Epigen 90™ incorporates many new health and nutrition innovations. If you can please take a moment, tell us how the transition to the new diet has been and any other results you can share with us -- wysong.net/survey.php Ferrets are very important to us and we want to continually improve the diets to give them the best chance for a long and healthy life. Your feed back will help us to that end. We wish you and your companion animals the very best of health. Sincerely, Wysong

Honestly I am SO glad I never ever have to worry about this type of nonsense, nor will my ferrets ever be at the mercy of a company who creates these issues.

Well, thank you Sherry so much for linking me here! I was about to bring my guys to the vet and no doubt pay for a useless run of meds, but instead Im switching over to Orijen. I have suspicion that Calli has a sensitive digestive system anyway so the no-chicken formula might do her some good. Picked up a bag of it yesterday with just enough Wysong left to make the transition, though I feel bad giving them more of the stuff >.<

NP For those having issues PLEASE go to the diet board. There is a sticky in the main board about this issue.

We were feeding Pumpkin and Otis Wysong Epigen 90 for a little while...and they both had really bad diarrhea...especially Otis...he ate more than she did...she had tiny amounts mixed with her other kibble...we now have a 20 pound case wasting space since we are going raw

It has been just over 2 weeks now and am almost done with the switch from the Epigen 90 to the Zupreem No Corn diet. Her stools are solid again and her coat is much softer too.
Over the course of contacting Wysong they sent me 3 separate packages of free samples of their archtype 1 (I guess from 3 separate reps) so I got a bunch of the stuff. I take a little bit of it and crumble it over the Zupreem to supplement it since it is all meat.
I notice that the Archtype 1 is very light, much lighter than standard kibble. So I wonder just how much you really get from the 7.5 oz bag that costs $20? If I can make a bag last a month as a supplement I wouldn't mind buying it. Still have many samples to go through. lol

I have finished the transition over to Orijen Regional Red and I am embarrassed by how happy I am over ferret poop! Their stools are solid again, and actually of better consistency than when they were on the old Wysong. I think I will be sticking with Orijen from now on.

Well, I just got a surprise package from Wysong, they started their reformulation testing and sent me a 2lbs. bag to try. She's fully on the Zupreem No Corn atm but I will gradually mix this in and see if her stools remain solid. At least they removed the Chia seeds, from personal experience I think this was the biggest source of the diarrhea.
