When you have a ferret that is not eating any weight gain is heven sent. I would even think maintaining weight would be heaven sent.
Carnivore care has extended the life of many of my ferrets
Sent from my SCH-I535 using proboards

She eats like crazy, she loves food. Especially trying different things. She just recently over the past month nor so had started rapidly losing weight for no reason, until we got her on her diazoxide and then started carnivore care. Super happy with the results, I think that will give her some more time for sure She's feeling better today because I increased her diazoxide dosage, we try and take advantage of the days she feels better by exploring the house or going outside.

@julesalot She looks much better in the second picture, even if the weight gain is miniscule - I can see a definite difference and it makes me very relieved and happy for you. Good for her.

It's been another 10 days (well technically 9 but it's almost midnight and 10 is easier to go by.. hehe) so I have another picture to share of Neichei's weight gain It's small but it's there! I don't have how much she has gained in grams, I'm not very good at converting the grams and ounces and all that but I'm going to keep taking pictures every 10 days Fingers crossed she keeps up the gaining!

Yes!! Just the type of news that I was hoping to hear from you! Maybe it's just the lighting, but it also seems her fur is a bit thicker as the pictures progress. Have you weighed her? The physical change is incredible for under a month of progress.

Yes I weighed her about 3 days ago but I'm having some trouble covering the ounces to grams, see we weighed her when she was at the vet a few weeks ago and they do it in grams so it's been confusing for me to try and figure all that out.

Post the amounts in grams from the vet and the ounces you have weighed her and we can help. Should be easy enough to convert using google.

I didn't think about using Google... silly me. She weighed .42 kg on Tuesday May 13th and she weighed 18.8 oz on Tuesday May 20th Okay so according to Google .42 kg is 14 ounces, so she had gained 4 ounces in a week. And I just weighed her a few minutes ago and she weighed an even 20 oz. So in 10 days she has gained 6 ounces Thank you carnivore care and baby food and canned pumpkin and KMR and canned food and whatever else I have used

Here it is- Neichei's "40 days of gain" collage! I've been taking pictures of her every 10 days since she has been on carnivore care (and weighing her). She has gained over 7 ounces and thought it is small you can see it. (if you click on it it's easier to see) I am very happy with the results, although it is expensive it has been a miracle worker. I will keep taking pictures every 10 days and weighing her, hopefully she can keep it up.

So glad she is looking better! How is her activity level? Have you tried giving her a soupy as well as the CC? So happy to hear she's doing ok.

Off the walls; last night she ran around from 10:30pm to 1:00am with just taking a few minutes in between every half hour or so. I thought I would never get to bed... lol Granted she does spend a lot of her day sleeping, but then she's hopping around as best she can. As long as there is a blanket or a carpet down she's happy and playful.

Oh and yes I water down her kibble and mush it up then mix it with CC or KMR or sometimes nothing and give it to her.

I weighed Neichei again on June 22nd (10 days after last time) and she has gained another ounce She is started to slow down on the gaining, but that makes sense, I suppose she can only gain so much. So here is the weight chart I've been keeping for her-(it's from this year, 2014) 14.8 oz -Tuesday May 13th 18.8 oz -Tuesday May 20th 21.2 oz -Monday June 2nd 22.3 oz -Monday June 22nd So she has gained 8 oz since May 13th. And as a comparison I weighed Juliet who is a good healthy weight and she weighs 25.2 oz. So Neichei is only 3 ounces lighter than her! Ah... it's been such a happy time since we started the Diazoxide and CC. She's been so happy and playful, it's no longer sad to pick my baby up and hold her and watch her play. I mean yes she has trouble walking but it doesn't bother her, so why should it bother me? She can go FAST when she's feeling good. Almost running speed, it looks funny but she can do it

I got some Carnivore Care for my older ferret when she had nasty diarrhea. It did not smell bad at all and Sophie loved it. While it's not a complete food, I think when they are sick and not eating well it's definitely worth having on hand.
