Max will probably sleep, while you stress and then when the tired Mommy finally goes to bed, Max will wake up and want to play. Do you have any Bach's Rescue Remedy? It might help him, if there is a next time. I would check with one of our experienced ferrants, but I don't think there would be a problem interacting with his other Meds.

I actually picked something similar up at the store today just in case--I also have a skittish kitty so double useful. This is all they had at the fancy pet food store though...looks to be about the same, right? www.petco.com/product/120669/I-and-Love-and-You-My-Nerves-Are-Stressed-Pet-Supplement.aspx#description-tabOnly it looks like this has some ethanol in it. am I safe to give him this? meh. My roommate is being horrid and I'm studying for final exams, so Max is having his first sleepover at my boyfriend's house with me tonight. All his happy exploring the new space is enough to convince me he's feeling better Still gonna talk to the vet about getting a tummy coater or something so this doesn't happen again.

I'm pretty sure Bach Rescue has some ethanol in it too. Just double check when you're in at the vet if it's ok to give him a remedy with his meds. Sorry to hear about your roommate! Hope Max enjoys his sleepover, make sure you get some sleep too!

The good thing about Bach's is it doesn't appear to affect any other meds. And you can get the human kind(uses brandy as a preservative), or the pet kind.

It seems a lot of people here are into Bach Rescue Remedy. Does it have quite a profound effect on ferrets? dreamgalaxies: Hey there, just wondering how Maxy is doing, I hope he's all cleared up? Did you manage to make it to the vet? All the best!

I didn't get to the vet as they only had emergency appointments open (where they take your pet in the back and you don't get to talk to the vet at all). Since Max is OK physically at this point, I didn't want to go that route. I'm lucky enough to have a vet who is familiar with Max though, and I'm going to call in and explain the problem and usually they'll have Dr. Burgess call me back at the end of the day to advise me. So we'll see what he has to say about diazoxide, overeating and vomiting, haha. As far as the roommate goes, she hates animals. She seemed OK with Max and my cat, Merlin, at first, but she's gotten increasingly passive aggressive and mean about it to me and them. Who can be mean to an animal? Ugh. Whatevs, she's on her way out. Max is loving exploring my boyfriend's house--lots of new things to jump on and look at! He seems to be feeling just fine. I'm sure lots of water and soup helped with that.

Good plan, he's lucky to have a sensible ferret mummy Yeah I'd be interested to hear if they have any theories, it seems such a strange fleeting incident. I feel your pain with the roommate woes. Last year my friend of 13 years and I moved in together and by the new year we were done. I often reflect on it and the more I do the more I come to realise that the passive aggressive manner she showed was her true spiteful personality. In terms of being actively mean to you AND your animals is pretty disgusting. I don't trust people who don't like animals... I'm so glad he's well, I love it when you get to introduce your ferret to a new place. There's nothing more exciting to a carpetshark than a new carpet!

Yeah, my roommate was a good friend from college but sadly not sure she'll be much of a good friend in the future. So many people really unleash their truly selfish natures in living situations I can deal with people that are ambivalent about animals--especially ferrets, I get that they're not everyone's cup of tea. But actively disliking them is so strange to me. Haha yeah he's having a blast. My house is all hardwoods, and this place is carpeted, with lots of furniture and a strange maze-like set up that doesn't make a lot of sense (doors lead to odd places). Basically ferret paradise with adequate supervision

Re:Bach's- it has enough of an effect that a volunteer with our local rescue is now a believer after seeing how quickly and effectively it worked during an intro
