Hey, I am just posting to keep this going.
So far they have eaten all of their food, although I took out about 1.5oz of food for each feeding. I'm assuming I needed to do this because of the time of year (Spring) and that my kit is getting older

Opps sorry, it looks like my post didn't show up from earlier tonight.
Everything is going well. I had to cut out 1.5oz of each meal most likely due to it being Spring and my kit eating less as he reaches adulthood. Everyone seems to be fine, I suspect that one of them may be sensitive to a protein source, I'll have to pay closer attention for when it happens again in correspondence to what I have fed them most recently.

If they have the proper seasons now would be the time to drop winter weight and start blowing their coats. The females sometimes eat very little.. it seems scary how little they eat I'd watch them. If they eat every bit of it then you might add a little more (or less) till you find the right amount. I always watch carefully because sometimes mine will drop a lot of weight but then pick up eating a little bit and gain a small amount back.

So my male ferret is shedding like crazy. I have been wanting to introduce some eggs during this time to help with any hair he ingests and I wasn't sure what meal should be replaced?

You have 9 bone in meals. You could replace one of those with a meal of egg.

So I read somewhere the brain is a good source of taurine? I was just curious if this was true because I can get my hands are brains way easier than hearts
Edit: Also, if I buy the ground rabbit/bones/organ will that work for my bone meals?

You need at least 1 1/2 meals of heart/liver/other secreting organ. I believe the brain does have a lot of taurine in it. I could never get my kids to eat it but it would be an acceptable substitute.
Sorry for the late reply, I had to put one of my kids down on Wednesday and had a lot of school work to catch up on.

What other sorts of bone-in meals can I feed other than chicken, turkey, and ox-tails?

Pork rib ends, cornish game hen, rabbit, rats, quail are good options.

Would the pork rib ends just be the small pork bones from hare today?
Also, does the ground rabbit/organs/bone constitute as a bone meal?

Yes those ones from hare today are usually fine. If they happen to be too big you can give them a little smash with a hammer to break them up.
Ground whole rabbit is a bone in meal but it does not clean their teeth like actual chewing of bone. I usually do a meal a week or every other with my crew (Gets expensive for me lol)
