Hi everyone,
You may or may not know me, as I used to be very active on this forum and was a mentor in the switching program as well. Unfortunately I have not been either for quite some time as I have been going through an exhausting amount of ongoing health problems the past few years.
Sadly, I have reached a point in my life where I am absolutely exhausted and overwhelmed with everything that my body and mind have been going through and I feel like something has to give in order for me to carry on.
Given this, and the fact that I no longer have the energy to properly care for my ferrets the way they need, including not being able to feed raw, provide them with enough human interaction, or give them enough space for exercise, I have come to the difficult decision of starting a search for their new home.
They are extremely bonded and all 3 must go together.
1) Sophie, a 3 year old (DOB:Feb28/2011) sable female. Sophie is 100% healthy, has been vaccinated against distemper and rabies and is most likely protected for life, and is microchipped. She is very sweet and mild mannered, gives kisses, and has had supervised interaction with dogs of all sizes, cats, and preschoolers. She has interacted with 3 other ferrets besides her two current buddies over her lifetime and has never had an issue with other ferrets. Sophie is not a biter at all, but watch your socks and toes as she does love those.
2) Olivia, a 3 year old (DOB:Feb28/2011) champagne female. Olivia is currently 100% healthy. She suffered from a chronic cough as a kit and underwent rigorous testing (X-rays, ultrasounds, EKG's) which revealed nothing of concern. She did present with a mild secondary AV block on her EKG but it does not require any treatment and has no future implications. Her chronic cough resolved itself over a year ago and she currently checks out healthy. She has been vaccinated for distemper but never for rabies and is microchipped. Olivia is an absolute character, who I would describe as a highly intelligent but sweet natured ferret. She needs mental stimulation and once she sets her mind to something she won't stop. She will occasionally bite you to get your attention but responds well to time outs and being ignored. She also adores one on one time and loves to be showered with affection (though she would never admit it). Olivia shouldn't be left unsupervised with cats or dogs as she thinks it's fun to chase them and nip at their feet. She is good with other ferrets but is definitely the boss.
3) Mikey, a almost 2 year old male (DOB:May24/2012) who is a dark sable mitt. Mikey is 100% healthy and fully vaccinated and microchipped. Mikey is an absolute doll and loves to be carried and snuggled. Does occasionally bite if your hand is tasty or if he's hyper but responds well to corrections. He adores Sophie and Olivia and is great with other pets and kids too. He is good with other ferrets.
All 3 ferrets are 100% litter trained inside the cage and 99% litter trained out of the cage, with the exception of if you don't scoop enough they'll make a new litter box. They currently are living in a 11-panel escape-proofed Marshall playpen but are comfortable spending time inside their ferret nation cage too.
They are good with bath time (2-3 times a year), perfect at nail trims and good with ear cleaning.
They currently eat orijen cat kibble but have been on 100% Frankenprey in the past. They have also eaten commercial raw and freeze dried raw.
They come with:
-2 story ferret nation 142
-1 story ferret nation add on that can be used as a quarantine / travel cage or added on to their 2 story
-2 full bedding sets made by little feet ferret bedding
- 11 panel marshal playpen with floor mat that has tubing on top to make it escape proof
-toys toy toys and more toys including tunnels, ball pits, hidey homes, squeaky toys, and lots lots more
-harnesses and leashes
-litter boxes galore and wood pellet litter
- water dishes (lock crocks) galore
-their conditioning baby shampoo
-3 fills bags of freeze dried raw
-commercial raw patties
-orijen kibble
-whatever treats, ferretone, etc they have
-almost fully stocked ferret first aid kit
-all of their medical records including CDs with X-rays on them
-probably more stuff I am not even thinking of
I would LIKE them to go somewhere that will put them back on raw.
I would like them to go to someone with ferret experience or a newbie who can prove they have done their research
I don't want any money for the 3 ferrets, just a good home. But I would like some money for some of their stuff, totally negotiable and reasonable on what price we can agree on, as it's probably like $1000 worth of ferret stuff.
I also don't want them to go to someone who doesn't have money. They need emergency vet funds, and proper raw diets and someone who can afford to care for them please and thank you.
Please reply to this post with any questions or message me. Feel free to cross post anywhere you want.
I just want a better life for my three babies than what I can currently provide them with.
Thanks.
-Stephanie
