Some meds are just best given over the toilet. Pred is not usually the one to cause this but each ferret has their own tolerance levels for stress and foul tastes. I'm sorry that the wee one is having this type of problems. I hope that the pred moves quickly and offers her relief ciao

I hate it when they react that way to something they really need I have to almost lay on Boris when giving him his meds since he hates ANYTHING from a syringe, and even then, it's iffy as to how much goes into him, and how much on me Poor little Miss Salem. Give her lots of lovin's

Poor girl...I would sneak Ovana's pred into a spoonful of soup mixed with ferretone, it was the only way to keep her from retching. I hope her treatment starts going better...

I am so sorry it is that awful for her, poor little girl. Have you tried mixing salmon/olive oil with it? Have you ever tried unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil? Teddy adores it and since it's something new I thought maybe it might help...

I used to do the pred sammich, tone on either side, we had the flavored pediapred and none of mine loved it, but didn't fight it horribly either. When we had to give Pip antibiotics he hated them and it was bad trying to get enough into him and that was only for a week.

Well thankfully this morning I found something that works for her. I let her eat most of her soup, and then on the last spoonful I mixed the pred in and she didn't seem to notice. That way she's got almost a full meal in her tummy before she takes it. I would hate to go through what we went through last night again, that was just awful and I felt so bad for her! I had to wash the poo out of her tail after that, which I had to scruff her to do so, and she acted like I was going to give her pred again and started freaking out, scratching at her face and peed in the sink.

Poor wee thing. I feel so sorry for them when you're trying to do good by them but they don't see it that way. Yuri is like that right now, it doesn't matter what I try and put in him, he reacts like that. He even pees on me when we're feeding him. If he wasn't enjoying life so much when he's awake and not being treated I would seriously consider allowing him to walk the path. He's always been a really stressed fuzz (hence the ulcers) but sometimes forcing food and meds on them seems almost worse than the alternate. ciao
