I'm having a hard time finding a responsive ferret shelter on Vancouver Island. There seems to be a lot of online discussion and demand for help regarding abandoned and mistreated ferrets on the island, but despite a hefty amount of phone calls and emails I can't seem to get anyone to get back to me. One of my ferrets very recently passed away and i'm anxious to start the process of finding my other ferret a new companion. I'd like to look into possible fostering and adoption, and at the very least set up some sort of play date/meeting so my guy can interact with more ferrets, after all as much as you love them and chase them around on your hands and knees nobody really gets a fert like another fert. If anyone could point me in the right direction i'd really, really appreciate it. Cheers.

I haven't heard of any Ferret Shelters on the Island, have you tried contacting any of the local animal shelters? eg SPCA or Coastal Animal Services (pound) sometimes they get ferrets.
