Update: I came home early from Job 1 so I could nurse him a little bit. When he woke up he wasn't grinding his teeth nearly as much. Went potty (number 1 and 2!) and both were pretty normal, then he perked up and started trotting around the room with bright eyes. He even jumped up on my bed with one jump! So I opened my door to see if he wanted to go roam the house and he did! He wasn't his normal self, but he was trotting around and getting into stuff and not grinding his teeth. I took this as a very good sign that the fluids in particular were helping (administered 9AM, and he napped until I got home at 1).
After about 15 minutes of play (way more activity than I'd seen since this started), I had to put him up for a minute and we went back to sleep.
We are going in for Round 2 of Bloodwork and a checkup early tomorrow morning.
Katt: Yeah, we tried that last night, but he wanted none of it! I think I will try my tactic of having him be really sleepy tonight if I can. The problem is instead of having butterfly needles which are really flexible I have a regular stiff needle.
Yes, she is really caring and relatively knowledgeable. She used to have ferrets and for a while they were on Raw but when she couldn't do that anymore her 2nd choice for health reasons was Marshall's :/ But she's very caring! She returned my phone call at 10:30 last night and I was also able to contact her at the office today too.

He's better!!! He's better!!! I am SO HAPPY! (dance) (bounce)  (dance) I got home from work and checked on him, he's been sleeping all day, my family was checking on him while I was at work. I woke him up and gave him his meds and a little soup and then he just... turned on! I let him out to roam the house (his favorite) and he scooted! And then he really got going, he ran up a whole flight of stairs! I heard a dook when he ran downstairs! I can't wait to get an ok from the vet tomorrow! Thank you to all for prayers, warm thoughts, and being here to talk to. I've been going crazy waiting! I appreciate everything, really.

That is great! Fingers crossed his blood work tomorrow is clean. I would consider doing a few more checks over the next several months just to be safe, as kidney damage can take a while to present itself. Just ask miamiferret2 I'm so glad to hear he is feeling better though! (dance)

Oh, that first dance when they have been unwell and scared the bejeezes out of you is unforgettable. I still can feel the joy I felt when Zoltan did a like his self dance after his snake bite incident.
Here's hoping that this is a sign the ordeal is over and everything goes well from here

Guess who is going to be all better? ROWDY!!!
He felt even better this morning. So much so that we were unable to get any blood from him. There were three of us holding him and he was licking Nutrical off my finger and he still was so wiggly and VITAL that he wouldn't stay still. Also he had gained back the 4 ounces he had lost and was also drinking and peeing regularly!
We're going to continue to do the stomach coater Sucralfate until its all gone and maybe refill it if we see any symptoms of discomfort after it's gone.
He is still sleeping most of the time and hasn't yet felt up to bouncing around with his buddies, but he is sooooo much better!!
I will definitely continue watching for kidney damage. How long until he is in the clear?
Sooooo happpyyy!!!!

Yes, unfortunately he is not in the clear. If I remember correctly, he will always be at a greater risk for kidney disease/failure. I'm glad he was so feisty today, but you definitely need to get a follow up blood panel soon to be safe. Kidney damage can be super sneaky. Sooo glad he is feeling better though! :boing:
