Effect of Stomach Acid on Raw Bone - Discussion Thread

Just realized I'm not sure people can comment on the Raw Science board so posting here so discussion can happen if anyone wants.

Awesome video showing what Hydrochloric Acid (the very same acid released by your stomach) does to raw bones. And this is just the acid, it doesn't even take into account the other digestive enzymes in stomachs.

To bad they don't mention how long it took to dissolve the skull.

Guess that also explains why the fur comes out basically intact as well. It is keratin based, like the duck's bill.

When you think of it- it's kind of like the old experiment we used to do in school with vinegar and an agg. The acid in the vinegar would dissolve the calcium in the eggshell when left in overnight.
