There is an ad at my work that was just put up for a free ferret... I'm really tempted to get him and find a proper home for him.. I can't imagine what kind of home he could possibly go to for free. Its been bothering me ever since I saw the ad.
The lady came in the store the day before yesterday when I was working and she was told to put up a flyer, so it was JUST put up.. I know he couldn't possibly be gone yet.

Well I called and my phone call was ignored, so I left a message.

MOre than likely she simply wasn't home, or wasn't in a position to take a call.

I was just saying it was "ignored" because it rang and went to voicemail after the first ring like when someone hits the ignore button.

I understand, but it does seem a bit like you are expecting this person to be a less than stellar example of humanity. He/she may just not know any better. Then again, they could be awful. Just be careful to keep an open mind, as some people who are ordinarily nice people can sense it and really get defensive.

I understand, but it does seem a bit like you are expecting this person to be a less than stellar example of humanity. I don't know what you mean by this. I wasn't expecting anything of the person. That's what the button is called on the phone; "ignore." Its red. If you mean in my original post.. I'm just meaning that "free" animals often get the wrong homes. Sure, sometimes they don't, but sometimes they do. I'm not judging the person who owns the ferret in the slightest.

I have my fingers crossed, I'd love to know that little one found a good home.

I finally got a person on the phone! I left them a message each time I called lol
I'll be picking up the boy tomorrow before work. (I hope my work won't mind me bringing my own ferret to work lol)

I guess if my husband happens to fall in love with him like he did with both Neamhain and Cichol (he wasn't trilled at first and then got to know them and loved their personalities) then we'll keep him. If not, I guess he'll be our foster until a great home is found.

That's awesome. Hope his transition goes as well as neimhain's. (She fit right in from the beginning if memory serves, yes?)

Yes she did.
I got him! He is so gorgeous and sweet! He is a black eyed white with a bit of silver ticking.
The lady said that he belonged to her grandson, but he moved out and left the ferret and she doesn't have time to spend with him.
She also said that someone else called for the ferret this morning. They didn't even know what it was...they thought it was a dog breed.
Anyway, he's hanging out at my pet store job with me until I get off and go home.
