I agree with the earlier post about NOT displaying ferrets in glass fish tanks, however I think they should be in a FN or equivalent behind glass. A lot of people are petters, and people carry flu etc. and should not be allowed to randomly be able to contact these babies. Having worked in a major pet store that kept ferrets in a large glass display, we were instructed not to allow petting during flu season and requesting hand sanitization procedure for potential buyers. Good policy. They never got babies as small as described above, that I can recall (I was working in VA)

The request for hand sanitizing has been the same whenever I've handled the ferrets there for the last 6-8 months, which is good. Or else it's just been the staff I've run into ;D Because there are some who don't realize ferrets catch the human influenza virus.

That's a good point Sherry - I guess it would be easier to train a young nippy kit NOT to nip than to try break an older biter of the habbit. I think the babies were more trying to get milk out of fingers than bite me though. That's so great that you go there and handle them! crazylady - I really wish we had breeders up here! Adopting a younger ferret from a breeder like you who would make sure they were properly weaned and already have them on a natural diet to boot would be amazing! I really wish there was that option
