Watching her eat these meals with such relish makes me feel bad that I denied my past ferrets the same pleasure -- and that most ferrets never get to eat naturally. Live and learn! I'm certainly doing things differently this time around. It is fun watching them chow down, shaking and crunching isn't it! Sounds like you have good access to a variety too which is awesome. Stop it, stop it - you are just tempting me to go crazy at Fubonn's Asian Market in Portland... ;D There are so many amazing things at ethnic stores, seriously. It's a treasure trove in those places. Skinned rabbit, whole quail, duck and duck organs, all kinds of pork organs, goat chunks.... Congrats on your baby enjoying his food - isn't it satisfying to see them eat what nature intended?! I love it.

Cricket didn't eat the mouse - she chewed the face a little bit but may have been distracted by the chicken wing I also gave her. Should I offer one thing at a time? I just don't want her to go hungry if she doesn't like one of the items. She didn't eat the superworm I tried, either. She loves the poultry necks and wings. Today she's eating bone-in ground rabbit but I had to mix in a teaspoon of canned cat food before she'd eat it. Last night's cornish game hen was a hit -- I gave her a drumstick. My boyfriend bought me a top-of-the-line electric meat grinder as an impromptu gift so I could make raw food for the animals. I plan to marry him.

Was the mouse fuzzy? The chicken wing probably did distract him. Next time offer the mouse alone, and make sure he's hungry.
Wow, a met grinder?! Sounds awesome!! What bones can it handle?

The mouse was a hopper, so it had fur. Should I try a pinkie? I can do that and offer it alone. The meat grinder reportedly handles all chicken, duck and rabbit bones. It may also work on small beef bones like ribs, according to some users.

You could try another hopper cut in half, maybe with his favorite on it. Or a pink (possibly cut in half too). Some fuzz have issues with the fur Wow, that's awesome. What a GREAT gift for you and your fuzz
