That is amazing!! Good old organ soup! I'm so glad they all ate it. (dance) Could I also get an update on weights, poops etc? Ps. Organs can produce some really funky poops. Just a heads up. Just another idea, if Kimble took to the organs you could try feeding another small meal in a few days with hearts in it. Slice them fairly thin. The will be milder tasting than organ so he may try them when they are masked with the other flavors. We can out persist that stubborn kimble! Haha until then I think it is best to have him eating a few fdr meals with avery and Foster. I want him getting some meals that contain heart. Keep up the great work!

Actually, I hooked some turkey heart with his beef and it appears to be gone. He flat out refuses to eat ground anything. I was so surprised that I got him to eat some organs today. Poops have varied, but mostly fall within the norms. Somebody had two seedy poops yesterday, but none since. Weights: Foster 2 lb 3.7 (-.4 oz) Avery 2 lb 9.0 (-.1 oz) Kimble 1 lb 9.7 (+5.3 oz) Happy moving. Hope everything goes smoothly.

Confirmed. Kimble ate two good-sized chunks of rehydrated turkey breast last night, along with 3oz beef. I put two segments of chicken wing in there this morning for him, and a 3oz dish of CFR chicken w/chicken for the older boys.

Do you mean turkey heart? If so that is awesome!!! The weights look alright. We will keep an eye on Avery and Foster to make sure that they are not continuing to lose weight. The little bit of weight change is not too concerning. How is the energy, poops? Keep up with the pieces for the older two. What size are they accepting? How many pieces approx? Since they all took to organs I would like to see you feeding that one full meal a week. Kimble can have it 1 full and one half meal. But since the older two are getting it in their fd food they don't need that extra half meal. I would like to see that you are feeding kimble 1 full and one half meal of hearts a week as well. One meal for the older two for the same reason as the organs. Since you are at two different stages I would like to see a little menu of what they have been eating. (and you can go a few days ahead if you know what you will be feeding ahead of time). It can look like this: Kimble: Monday am: ________ Monday PM:_________ Tuesday AM:________ Tuesday PM:________ Foster/Avery: Monday am: ________ Monday PM:_________ Tuesday AM:________ Tuesday PM:________ and so on. I would like to see for both to see the proteins that are being accepted at this point and I would like to see Kimble's bone, organ and heart intake.

Yes, turkey HEART. I'll get the menu typed up this evening. Foster and Avery's weights were down this morning, but they didn't eat very well the last couple of days. This morning, I gave them their favorite meal, Freeze Dried Turkey...3oz, nothing mixed in. I wanted to get them to eat well so they don't continue to lose weight. Normally, I've been mixing 3 oz commercial with about 1 oz diced chicken, pork or beef. They will eat pieces that are navy bean sized, but if they are kidney bean sized, they might eat them, or they might place them gently on the floor next to the bowl and go back to eating from the bowl. Proteins for Foster & Avery: Chicken (and chicken CGF) Chicken Livers/Pork brains Chicken hearts (not too enthusiastic) Pork Lamb CGF Beef Beef/Salmon (CGF) I have calf liver, but it hasn't gone over well Turkey (raw, freeze dried, and frozen) Proteins for Kimble: He eats chicken wings (including most of the bones) beef chunks cornish hen pork chunks (my butcher says he's never heard of pork buttons) turkey heart & ate a little bit of the chicken liver/pork brain smoothie (yum) [img src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/ .png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/ .png" src="http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/h352/JW_2012/Emoticons/ .png" style="max-width:100%;"]. Lamb is godawfully expensive, as are duck & quail, so I haven't bought any yet.

Okay...made a teensy bit of progress with Avery tonite! I held him and held part of a chicken wing and he bit it. He tried to pull a bite off (unsuccessfully) but it's the first time he's ever shown any interest.
As for weekly menu: Foster and Avery 2/3/14 AM - 3oz turkey FDR with chix slivers PM - 3oz pheasant CGF with diced beef late PM - 3oz CGF chicken with diced beef
2/4/14 AM - 3oz FDR turkey w/diced beef PM - 2oz calf Liver cubes (did not go over well) LATE PM - CGF lamb with diced beef
2/5/14 AM - CGF lamb with diced beef (usually mixed 3 to 1 ratio) PM - CGF chicken with diced beef
2/6/14 AM - chix heart w/CGF pheasant PM - I forgot to jot it down
2/7/14 AM - CGF lamb with diced beef PM - CGF turkey with chicken pieces
2/8/14 AM - FDR turkey w/chix pcs PM - I forgot to jot it down
2/9/14 AM - 2oz chix liver/pork brain PM - lamb with chix pcs
2/10/14 AM - CGF chix w/chix pcs PM - CGF pheasant w/chix pcs
2/11/14 AM - FDR turkey plain PM - CGF pheasant w/chix pcs
For Kimble: 2/3/14 AM - 3oz beef chunks PM - 1/2 cornish hen
2/4/14 AM - still has some cornish hen PM - other 1/2 cornish hen
2/5/14 AM - chicken back PM - chicken back
2/6/14 AM - chix heart PM - beef chunks
2/7/14 AM - 2 chix wings PM - still has one wing left
2/8/14 forgot to take notes
2/9/14 AM- ate some liver/brain chicken wing PM - beef chunks with turkey heart slices
2/10/14 AM- chicken wing PM - beef chunks
2/11/14 AM - chicken wings PM - another wing (but I bought some pork today so we can change things up tomorrow)

I will look at this more closely tomorrow. I apologize but I have not been feeling well today (bad timing to get sick.. but the stress of moving I know played a factor). The one thing I see right away is with Kimble, I would like him to have 1.5 meals of hearts (which there is) and 1.5 meals of organs (I see half). Those two things are really important since he is not eating the commercial raw. How are his poops? You may want to space out the non bone meals. Overall in one week he should be getting about 8-9 bone meals a week. Depending on the day you forgot to take notes you might be a little high. But his poops are the best indicator. I always space out my boneless meals as they tend to cause sloppier poops. Let me know

Hope you start feeling better before you have to start loading the truck!
I know Kimble wasn't the most balanced last week.I just finally found an organ mix that they'd eat on the 9th. I figured I'd work with them some more on organs/hearts this weekend when I'm off, so I can monitor who is eating what. Poops look good so far, except for organ day, of course.

Thank you, I'm really not feeling well today (Took the day off). I have been up since 4AM due to sore throat/ chest/ coughing/ sweats. (sounds fun huh?) lol OK, I am glad to hear that poops look good. This week shoot for 1.5 meals of organs and 1.5 meals of hearts. 8-9 meals of edible bone and a few meals of boneless meat. How is Kimble doing with the bones? Is he eating it all? With Foster and Avery keep up the good work. I'm impressed they are taking to different protein pieces. How do they like pork pieces or turkey pieces? Those are other, easier to obtain, options as well. Continue to increase the number of pieces (slowly) and the size (slowly). When you feed Kimble his organs and hearts you can do the same with the other 2. (just feed 1 meal of each for the other 2 though). They are really progressing! Keep it up!

Is there any issue if most of the bone in is chicken? The boneless meals will be pork and beef.

No that isn't an issue at all. You also have been feeding Cornish hen. Is he eating those bones? So far it looks like 4 different proteins being fed to Kimble. Cgh, chicken, beef and pork. 3 proteins is the minimum. So this isn't bad. Will he eat and commercial raw either frozen or fd? It's not a bag idea for him to get used to something that can be watered into a soup. I still feed soupie 1x a week in case I every have a very sick fuzz. Then I know they will accept something I can spoon/syringe feed.

Yes, eating Cornish hen bones entirely. And both ends of the chicken wing bones were gone entirely. I'm guessing that if I smash them, he'd eat those too. The pork was not a huge hit. He had it before when we first got him, but this is a darker cut...maybe it tastes different. He did not seem to have much luck eating the pork bone last nite.

Im curious, what cut of pork did you give for the pork bones? I use pork breast bones (really cheap here compared to other cuts) and I cut out the larger marrow-y bone in the middle and am left with the pure white softer bones. Mine adore gnawing on them. Granted cutting out the larger bone is a pita, it is worth it for me because I save a lot with the cheap cut of pork. I am glad he is eating all of his cgh bones! Yay Kimble! With the wing bones I usually give them one quick smash to break up the larger bone (I do this with my cleaver when I am cutting them up) Keep trying with the pork, he may just need to get used to it. It could be that it is a different cut, each cut tastes a bit different. Mine notice when I change the cut of beef ( like from stewing to a roast cut). But eventually they will just eat it anyways. How are the other 2 doing with their chunks? How many chunks vs. commercial raw are they getting in a meal? Do they pick around them ever? What size are the pieces now? Otherwise is everything going ok with weights, poops, energy etc?
