I tried the organ meal last week with poor results, but will try again this week.

Ack! I forsee some interesting poops coming. I don't know how they did it, but somebody opened an eos lipbalm and ATE the entire thing! I'll have to see who has orange scented whiskers. Sigh.
Update: Kimble smells like an orange blossom. It was him.

I totally cheated this weekend. I gave the olders entirely FDR and GFR all weekend (did not revert to kibble, but didn't do the slivers either). Saturday was a crazy whirlwind :tornado: of activity from 8am to 1 am. Sunday, I was recovering from Saturday and sat on the couch all day with ice on my knee while the ferties ran amuck ALL over the house. Doc thinks I've got something going on with my meniscus, but it's doing much better with the reduced activity. I went to bed at 8:30 last night, but am finally starting to feel some of my energy coming back. Kimble got large hunks 'o stuff throughout. That's fast and easy. The chicken slivers I had defrosted in the fridge got stinky, so I threw them out and I need to find which bag the "slivers-that-aren't-beef" are in. I may be out of boneless pork and chicken, but pork is on sale this week at the butcher and it's on my way home. ( www.canalfultonpro.com/SPECIALS.html )

So...I put chunks of liver in last time and tried to hand feed them (scruffed and stuffed until it was liquid and they STILL spit it out) heh. They are not fans...liver does have a ... distinctive smell and taste. Is there some way of preparing that makes them more receptive?

Last night, I gave them GFR lamb with slivers of beef. They rejected the slivers, but both Foster and Avery ended up eating some of them this morning before I swapped out the bowl for fresh food. They weren't thrilled, but they did it.

That is awesome that they ate some! That is actually a huge victory! Keep up with the slivers. I really think it is important to be feeding them every meal. For the liver, you can try slivering it up and putting it into their GFR or CR. It's like introducing any other meat. Slowly but surely. To be honest I actually grind mine into a "soup" texture with kidney. For some reason they took to that when they didn't want to try chunks. But I did a lot of dabbing on mouths and sprinkled treats on top. (you could do that with your FD foods.) I am more concerned with Kimble getting his organs (once a week is fine if he is eating some CR or FD) and hearts (again once a week is ok if he is eating some CR and FD) With Avery and Foster they get enough organs and hearts in their CR and FD right now. Let's just concentrate getting them on slivers.

Okay...Avery voluntarily ate 3 pieces of chicken heart! He doesn't like them with olive oil tho. Foster wouldn't eat them plain, but did eat some pieces mixed with commercial ground pheasant. Kimble is refusing them in any form. Not chunks, not slices, not plain, not with EVOO, not with pheasant. He will not eat any ground anything. I may have to supplement taurine until I can get him to eat heart. I thought he would be the easy one!

Success! Foster and Avery ate about half of the two oz of heart. Today, I gave them ground lamb with beef pieces and they ate every piece they encountered! I also cut back on the amount of water added to the mix. I know they were hungry, as we all slept in and then had to wait for the lamb to defrost in warm water.
Overnight, Kimble ate all but the center parts of the bones of the center section of a large chicken wing. I didn't mash it so I could see what he can do on his own. He doesn't want to eat from a bowl. Ever.

Aww Yay Foster and avery!!!! They are really progressing! Keep it up. Slowly add more pieces to their fd. Eventually you will have more pieces than not With Kimble, how much fdr and cr is he still eating? I don't want to go to supplementing quite yet with him. I suggest continuing to try heart with him. I would try teeny tiny pieces mixed in with something he likes. He may just need to develop a taste for it. It can take a while before he may accept it. I would take those tiny pieces and scruff and stuff a couple times a day as well. Another thing to try that surprisingly works with mine is to put the tiny pieces in front of them, scuff them and hold them just above the pieces. Mine will often start eating this way. Either way keep trying. Your doing great!

Try hooking a heart onto the hook with his other meat. Silly Kimble is supposed to be the easy one to please!

Another HUGE step accomplished! Today, I blended 16 oz chicken livers with 16 oz pork brains (shudder). It made a lovely pancake batter consistency. I sprayed the ice cube trays with olive oil/water in a spray bottle, filled two trays with the mix and had about 2 oz left to feed today. It worked! I successfully got all three of them to eat it from the dish! They weren't thrilled at first, but they ate about half the dish full. I'll obviously have to work on getting the amount eaten increased, but yay! And no other ingredients were used!
