Hey guys I'm going to bed early. I'm exhausted. Was out and about from noon to 6:30 and I'm pooped! Sad I know but that's what inflammation will do to you. But I gave the babies rabbit today and chicken gizzard tonight. I filled in a tentative schedule for the rest of the week and I will post tomorrow. Gotta get some sleep in while I can. My sons new schedule on top of everything else is kicking my butt! Nighty night!

Oh. You didn't mention that you got chicken gizzards. Hope they loved it! Great for their teeth, aside from bone. Hope you're feeling better in the AM. I was working nonstop on my feet and when I got home, I collapsed onto my bed. (nod) When you're feeling better and relaxed, work on the meal planning.

Just a quick note - Gizzards are a muscle, they do NOT count as organs. Fantastic for their teeth though.

Oh yes I've had the gizzards - I forgot to include them in my list! I get them when I get the chicken hearts. They like them.
Well the poop questions are making a big comeback today with pictures and everything!!! They look icky and dark. Wasn't expecting it after the gizzards overnight.
Wait I can't get them to post from my phone. I'll get on the iPad and post them....

FYI - gave them a quail this morning, just split in half and then cut the spine and back legs into separate pieces. They dug right in! The quail are only about 4 oz each but since they will prob not leave any bones with these I'm waiting to see if there is a difference in how much I have to put out. I have another ready to go. SO EASY too. Wish I could give them quail all the time! I'll have to look for less expensive ones in bulk. These were $12 for 6 at the market.

Ok poop update! These are what scooped just now since they ate quail while I was bussing my son to and fro. Color a little better but still runny. Chicken wings are up next on the menu for tonight so I'm hoping that will help. Any thoughts?

Hmm I would say they may have a chicken - or even a poultry - sensitivity, but they do so well with chicken wings. And chances that both are sensitive are slim. Do all of the poops look similar, or can you somehow catch each of them pooping?
If you can, I would like for you to keep a poop journal. Just write down what their poops look like after each meal. This will help you track and see if they are having bad poops after a specific protein. Did they eat the quail bones? It could be a new protein, but even so they shouldn't be that soft... Is there any one food in particular at this point that you have noticed produces bad poops? If not, that's fine. Let's track their poops for a few days to a week and see what happens, and we will go from there. If you can get pictures, that is always great, but even writing down a detailed description is good. Color, size, and consistency (seedy, firm, mucousy, formed but soft, etc) and anything else you think may be notable.

Dun dun dahhhh... Here is the meal plan for this week! I found a great app on the iPad finally! What do you think so far? I'm assuming you can click to enlarge it right? The poops slowly got better yesterday. It was after the gizzards that they were the worst. Weird because I've given them gizzards before. Could it be a bad batch of gizzards???

Maybe. They generally won't eat food that is too bad for them to handle, but it is definitely a possibility. That's great poops are improving, leads me to think it was likely the gizzards. Or maybe something else stressed them out (any recent changes in the house perhaps? They get out for less time than usual? etc?) Keep monitoring, but that's great they look better. I'll leave J to comment on the menu.

First, let me apologize for the late reply. Had to teach 2 labs and just got home a few minutes ago. Okay, the menu. everything looks great, but I have one reservation. The organ portion Remember that even though it is 1.5 meals of organs, half of it has to be liver and the other half is of another organ (such as brains, kidneys, spleen, pancreas, pork stomach, etc). I know that not all these organs are found in any conventional supermarket, but perhaps the asian market you're currently going to may have them... if you ask nicely? Lol. I remember you telling us, when you were calling around for meats, that you found one that had organs every 3 months or so. You can always call every now and then to see when he gets organs in and stock up on other organs until his next shipment on organs.
Since I'm sure whether you have another organ, I'm going to assume that you do not. It's okay, for now. But when you do find another other you have some options on how to split up the meals.
Option 1: Make a mix of both liver and another organ in a bowl, portion them, and feed 1 whole meal and half a meal of this mix Day 1: AM: Organ Mix Day 6: PM: 1/2 Organ Mix; 1/2 Heart
-OR-
Option 2: Make a mix of both liver and another organ, portion them, and feed -- but have a portions of liver by itself as well. Feed as 1 whole meal of mixed liver/ organ and 1/2 a meal of ONLY liver. Day 4: PM: Organ Mix Day 7: AM: 1/2 liver; 1/2 Heart I hope the examples made sense. If not, you can explain it in a different manner. But, like I said.. Menu looks great! (dance) Just hunt down some organs and it'll be perfect. Keep track of the poops. Hope the poops are better by midday tomorrow, after chicken wings.

Hey guys I ended up in the hospital until about an hour ago. Still recovering. Don't worry the babies were well cared for by my daughter who was able to continue the diet with the pre packaged meals I had ready. Thank goodness for that. I will log in again tomorrow when I am hopefully feeling better.
Sorry for all the health drama but this is how it goes in my life.

Hope that you are okay! I was starting to worry thinking something had happen to you or your son. Glad to see that you were taken care of and that your ferts were able to continue their meals. If you're still not feeling okay, we'll understand. Things happen unexpectedly and there's nothing we can do about it. We're all human. Fell better
