Just make sure they have enough to last until the next meal time depending on how often you feed. Some feed twice a day, some once a day

Things are going great! Dottie and Strax are eating everything I give them so far. I've been able to give them chicken wings and necks with meat on them and they eat them! A few pieces of bone get left over but not a lot. They love the ground beef, veal, pork too. Next I will be introducing organs without soup. Starting with liver and then hearts. I'm so proud of my babies! They are growing like weeds!

With regards to how much they are supposed to eat, I usually notice they are not hungry anymore when, after eating most of the food, they start grabbing the food and go running somewhere with it and come back after a second to do the same thing.
Is this the right sign to know they are full?

Some stash right away (it's for snacks later...if they can remember where they hid it *) but usually if you're guys are eating at the bowl and then start stashing afterwards, they've probably had enough. Now, I've got a couple that will eat all the easy parts, and then stash the bones...but...these ones go off and eat, they're not just running to the bowl, grabbing, stashing and then coming right back. ciao

Awesome! Thanks Sherry! But one more question... Once on the totally raw diet, how often do the babies need to eat? Ive been trying to keep something available for them most of the time. I back tracked a little and gave some mushed kibble over night when I wasn't feeling well. But I learned that since I sometimes will be "down and out" from AS flare ups I am going to need to have lots of meat and meals ready to go so I dont have to go back to the kibble for a quick meal again. I've already been organizing the freezer and fridge to accommodate this. Other than that its been going well! I keep a bag or two of freeze dried raw food around for times when I'm rushed. It's easy to crumble a couple of pieces up and add warm water to reconstitute.
