I came across this great link on enhanced meats and what to look for on the packaging to make sure your not buying meat that has been "made better" by the meat industry by adding salt, sodium phosphates, spices, broths, seaweeds and other nonsense like that. www.virtualweberbullet.com/enhancedmeat.htmlI know that our furbabies have a better sense of smell than we do so they may be albe to detect the "extra" stuff that's been added and then refuse to eat it... causing us of course to freak out because our furBRAT has gone on a hunger strike and we are trying to figure out what's wrong with them...when there is nothing wrong with them, it's the meat!

Thank you Rose, great link. I had worried about this kind of thing as well as preservatives and hormones and all that. Thankfully I can (and do) get most of my meat from the Latino Market's butcher but I havent given them anything I get anywhere else because I worry (TBH i still worry since I dont know where Chele gets his meat, though its fresh and suposedly 100% all natural) One thing I wanted to point out is that everyone might want to look for farmers market in their area and try to get to know some suppliers. My mom loves the farmers market and she found one supplier who sells their products at their actual farm during farmers market's off season (they have a pretty nice set up, turns out that for them the farmers market was more of a place to advertise) I have been there before and they are the real deal. Everything is natural, simple and delicious! I am so excited about the meats though, it was quite a surprise. My brother is doing his masters in singapor and was home for the holiday, last friday I went to say good bye to him and everything and while I was there my mom told me that she just noticed their meats. She gave me some preservative/hormone/enhancement free- grass fed chicken she had picked up for Kahlua and Mojito that I am very excited to try
