I need to know how much colloidal silver to give to my ferret. I have Sovereign Silver Silver Hydrosol 10 PPM. Please tell me the dosage in teaspoon or the dropper not "cc" as I do not know how to measure this.

What are you giving it for? With my one boy who'd had a vastly enlarged spleen I gave a couple of sprays(could only get spray bottles here) per meal, so twice a day. This would probably translate to an 1/8 tsp a day. It did help. Okay, just checked on dosages. The instructions I read for cats were 15-20 drops of 10 ppm split into two doses for cats. So for ferrets I'd say 10 drops daily split. If you have the chance, I'd look for a holistic vet to be certain though.

I believe his spleen is enlarged as well, very new discovery, I am not exactly sure where the spleen is but it seems from what I have read is correct. Also general health and well being. So just 10 drops in the water or should I try to give him the drops alone as if he were on my lap?

CC should never be given as a general health preventative. It's like taking clavamox to cure what doesn't ail you. CC is an antibiotic if you would, a holistic one but should be treated with the same respect as any antibiotic. ciao

He needs it. He has this ailment to be cured. People take colloidal silver daily.

No. Ferrets are far too sensitive for this to be used as a daily preventative. Even when used for a specific illness(properly diagnosed by a ferret specific vet) it can be used for no more than 10 days before stopping it. Longer than that and it can do more harm than good. Using the excuse that people use it daily does not in any way make it right or safe for a 1-2lb animal to do so.

Okay I will do by your advice on the dosage and just do for ten days. In your experience, did you do ten days and start again at another point or was it ten days only?

Given that you appear to be using it in place if an antibiotic, if 10 days doesn't work then he/she MUST see your vet.

You are saying you can do 10 drops for 10 days?

Given that it has already been a week since you first asked all I will strongly suggest is that you see a vet ASAP.

I never started them yet. It is not an emergency situation where a vet is needed. He eats everyday and plays crazy fine.

Then why would you give him what can amount to an antibiotic?

My ferret got a hold of my CC and drank a lot of it, he looks as if he has lost a lot of weight. He is still very active but I am worried because he has a runny nose. Can the CC be harmful for him?

What is CC? You need to get your ferret to a vet. Period. Weight loss is not a good sign in ferrets and could be caused by many different things. First you said he has an enlarged spleen (which can be very bad), then you said you don't know where the spleen is. Then you say he is healthy, now you say he swallowed CC (whatever that is). Whatever is going on, you need to either take your ferret to a vet ASAP.

If you mean CS, anything can be harmful if enough is ingested- even water. I would get to a vet.
