No worries, if that's the case, let's remove the bones for now. I thought the chunks were bigger than fingernail size, but I think I was just deceived by the size in the pic you posted my bad. I would actually stop adding the ground pork. And move on to bigger pieces of pork, or just offer the bigger pieces of chicken for a while. They are being lazy about eating the chunks, so the best thing to do is to out-stubborn them by making them eat the chunks and not giving them the option of the ground

Sounds good! And yeah sorry their bowls are actually big, basically my whole hand can fit in it spread out. Ill use up the rest of the pork since there's just a bit left and keep it to chicken only after

Ahh well that explains it then no worries though they are moving along at a good pace Awesome that sounds good. You can pick up some pork meat the next time you go shopping though, like a cheap roast or a tenderloin or some cheap pork chops that you can cut slivers of pork off (the same size as the chicken) You can still add tiny pieces of gizzard, heart, liver too. Just stick to the same size as the chicken slivers. Once they are no longer eating around those, then you can increase the size

Playtime was good yesterday and poops are looking normal. I'll get weights as soon as possible. I grabbed some pork as well as some beef kidney just to mix it up a bit I've had to make the chunks of meat a bit smaller but they are eating all of them now including the liver and heart chunks. I'd say they are roughly the size of a pinky finger nail.

Also, Molly is still having hairballs in her poop. Is there anything I can be helping with that?

For the hairballs, if they're quite bad, I would go ahead and give 1 tsp of pumpkin per day for a couple days. Also keep giving the eggs weekly. You can also try giving her a water bath to loosen off any of the shedding hair. You can try brushing as well if she will allow it. As long as they are passing though, it's all good. For the meat, that's awesome that you are giving them variety with the organs, that is very important and good for them that's also great that the meat sizes are pinky nail size. See if you can't get them up a size bigger slowly And as for the weights, they can go up and down. ***As long as there is always a little bit of food left over each time you go to put in the new food, then yes they are getting enough food, they do self-regulate on raw. *** How are their body shapes looking? Could you post a new picture of each of them from the bird's eye view (from the top) so that I can have a look? And how much are they roughly eating a day?

I'll give them some egg tonight for their meals through the night. She just has some in her poop maybe every two days or so. Ill brush her a bit more then I have been. She loves it! I'll take pictures and get them up tomorrow Ill also count how much they eat starting tonight's meal. Ill measure it in grams or something

Since ten last night they have eaten around this much collectively 1 1/4 oz of soup and one egg - during the night. There was leftovers 2 1/4 oz of soup - during day while I was at school and work. No leftovers 2 1/4 oz when I got home. They each ate right away and there's leftovers. Maybe 1/2 oz or so
I'm figuring my problem is they aren't eating enough while I'm way during the day. My only fear with that is that the soup hits 8 hours at 3 in the afternoon and I don't usually get home till 530. Stitch will eat the old soup and I don't want him to get sick :/ Should I try and stick in maybe 4 oz while I'm at school and depending how much they eat by weighing it when I get home, leave out the amount without the difference from that day on? Or add more if they eat the whole 4 oz and are hungry when I get home.
They've just finished the rest of that soup so I'm going to put some more in so another 1 3/4 oz. Ill keep measuring until ten tonight. So by the time they finish this bowl they would have collectively eaten about 7.5 oz of soup plus an egg.

I had a half day today so I was able to sort of figure out how much they are eating during the day. I think it will be okay if I just stick twice the amount I have been. Will last them till 5 if needed and Stitch won't eat the old soup

Hey thanks for the updates! They both look just fine to me, not too skinny. And yes keep doing what you have been doing. They should have raw soup in the cage all the time. And honestly it lasts longer than 8 hours, and ferrets won't eat "bad" raw food. So no worries there either Just keep weighing them weekly and if they keep going down too much, we will make some adjustments.

Alright sounds good I realized today that I forgot to put eggshell in I think the last 2 or 3 days of soup. That was when I made my last batch. I realized when I made this batch with no eggshell and I froze half of it. With the non frozen soup I've put I pinch of egg shell in each 2tbsp and I will do that with the other bit once I unfreeze them for tomorrow. Will that be okay that they missed all those days and can they have too much of the eggshell calcium? They are having some runny poops which I am guessing is from the no calcium for the past couple days. Also just so you know what I'm doing at the moment with the food. I have been blending one baggie and then cutting another baggie up. I plan on slowly chopping the second bag as well while also increasing the sizes

At this point, we aren't overall worried about them having the perfectly balanced diet. It takes months for nutritional deficiencies to occur so a couple days is just fine You can give too much calcium, but it takes a lot and what you will notice is that the stool gets hard and white. Not enough calcium on the other hand causes runny poops and eventually deficiencies and soft nails. That takes months though so no concern What you're doing sprinkling the eggshell that you forgot on is just fine. Okay awesome thanks for the details! That works perfectly. Have you tried increasing the size of the pieces of meat yet? Give that a try and let me know how they do!
