came home, food didnt look touched since i last saw, woke up the boys, and added more chicken soup and some epigen 90... Monty got into it... lapping up the raw chicken, just a few laps but i saw he was definitely eating the chicken so i think for a FIRST day of raw its a good start. It helps that he loves the salmon oil because i drizzle it on top too. Dusty got angry and ran up on my bed and hid under the pillows... hes very hungry now because i know he eats A LOT more than Monty. So im going to leave the mix out and just go play with him.. its the least i can do! lol
ok an update... (just a few minutes later) wow... Monty lapped up A LOT of soup!! I' m so excited! Pretty sure he is deaf so he could'nt hear me screaming lol... but Dusty wont even go over to the food. As far as i know the last time he ate was this morning ;/ i put verrry little soup on a plate with the epigen 90 on top... he wont even touch it, he saw a bowl of plain food and he was interested... i feel so bad. im not going to kill him right? lol
and how do i know if my boys have a tummy ache? bad poops? or are their more signs?

ok so another morning.. food didnt look touched from last night, i made a new mix of soup and epigen 90, monty took to it fine... i had a small bowl of soup too... when i noticed him eating the mix fine, i pulled it, he just ate a good amount of plain soup!
Dusty on the other hand hates me... i did manage to get him to take a few licks of the soup off my finger, so thats a slight improvement from yesterday, but i caved and put out some regular kibble because he has not ate since last night...

Just stepping in here real quick. While they are on the soup stage you NEED to be posting daily, even if it's to say "no change"

The liquid content will cause wet, runny scats, perfectly normal. Sit with your picky baby, scruff him and take a teaspoon and dribble some into side of his mouth. When he swallows, rub him and say good boy, then repeat once more and let him run off a bit. Do this every 10mins.
I also want you to remake the soup, the chicken one but also likewise with the veal chunks. We'll rotate between the two, so chicken one day, veal the next.

ok thanks. and i asked this a bunch... someone said bubbles in poop could be a bacterial infection thought it is mostly likely because of the switch. i was wondering, if there was a bacterial infection, would it be caused from raw or would it be from something else?

Bubbles can simply be gas passing as they poop, being runny it bubbles easily. Kibble creates a perfect medium to grow bacteria, which is why we discourage mixing raw and kibble, so that would be the source of a bacterial infection. However, a bacterial infection also causes a very strong and rancid odour, and your ferret would have a yellowish goop as opposed to what he has produced. He is pooping normal for this part of the switch. Try not to over think it, you'll send yourself grey

yes i will! just a fair warning for the weeks to come... i worry myself sick (i literally did this week, not about ferrets but over work related things, stomach cramps, not eating, not sleeping...etc) i am a worry wart, my ferrets currently are really the only thing that brings me peace of mind and make me happy... so when it comes to their well being (especially my Monty, i got him first and we have a very strong bond) ill go nuts if anything remotely bad should happen.
so i only mixed the raw and kibble the first day and it really did nothing other than waste kibble and soup... i did just get back from my bfs house where there was their kibble out already... i did notice him eat a little... i didnt think to bring soup with me. anyways we got back and he had some more soup. I have to work with Dusty tommrow on him eating the raw.
But now i' am interested in the bacterial infection- i know, he doesn't have one, but i just want to know... whats the treatment, how will i know... and they can get it from mixing kibble and raw, how else can ferrets get a bacterial infection? and is it serious?

Bacterial infections aren't really common in a ferrets digestive system. The only time I've seem then is when the ferrets immune system is compromised or their gut flora had been taken out of whack (this usually caused by some types of antibiotics killing the good bacteria off). To treat you usually get them onto a board spectrum antibiotic and give it along side a probiotic.
