OMG!!! YES!!! That's what my new baby, Kimble, does ALL the time when he is out playing. He occasionally dooks, but most of the time, he does this! I wondered what it meant, as he always seems pretty happy go lucky. Thanks for posting this Sherry!

I love it when they laugh When we first got into ferrets, our Boris would do this when playing with his brother and we were really concerned. Vet explained exactly what it was he was doing, so I figured having this here would help others as well,

Taz and Bleu do this. They like to come up to our toes and nip and then run off laughing. They are trying to get us to play with them. Except they always do this when you have an arm full of stuff and you trying hard not to step on them. Silly weasels.

Oh my god Cooper does this ALL the time. I originally thought it was just really soft dooking but then I heard him actually dook when a vet tried to take his temp (he was NOT happy). I was a little worried that it was a respiratory issue but he only makes the noise during playtime or while he's eating. Its nice to know that he's just having a good time, and chooses to express his happiness by laughing instead of dooking. Thank you so much for sharing.

My little one, Penny, she laughs all the time! Especially during tickle time But sometimes she coughs after. One good HACK! Could it just be all the excitement? I've taken her in and vets have said she is one healthy little girl, nothing showing with xrays and what have you. She keeps playing through the HACK so I'm thinking it's fine. SIDENOTE: She's in the other room playing with her baby (her chirpy bird) and I can hear her getting all excited My sweet Penny javascript:addS("http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll118/sherrylynne_photos/smileys/Ferret%20Smilies/heart.png","%20 %20")

My older two rarely do this. Nixxie does it occasionally, specifically when she knows she is being naughty. I have never heard Nax laugh and it makes me sad, but Gilly, I swear she never stops. I love it.
