My snakes: Alistair - blood red cornsnake Ian - normal ball python Séan - albino ball python Aww they don't get -that- wide. cornsnakes AND ball pythons are recommended as beginner snakes and the best snakes for kids. I think you should tell him you're considering adopting a reticulated python, then he'll be relieved when you come home with a harmless, little ball Were your hedgies shy? Ours are pretty terrified of us. When we walk into the room they run and hide.

I LOVE your albino ball! So pretty One day I will convince him to let me have one! Mine were pretty shy, but I made sure to take them out a lot and just carry them around in a cuddle sack so they would get used to me. If I was watching a movie or doing some studying, he was in his cuddle bag on my lap. I would also literally take Kairo into Walmart, and he would just ride in his little cuddle bag and look around. Eventually it got to the point that he would just splat out and sleep on us. Persistence is key! This is Kairo in his cuddle bag: And this is how he normally slept with us:

The cuddle sack is a great idea! We took care of a sugar glider once who had a pouch that went around a person's neck, but it didn't occur to me to do the same thing with a hedgehog because of the spikes. Your sack is obviously a lot thicker than the one for the sugar glider though. We will definitely be trying this. Thanks!

I loved the pictures of your little zoo. Hedgehogs are so cute, and I'm very fond of cornsnakes. I hope you'll check in again, after the holidays and let us know how everyone got along.

Wow, gorgeous pics! And as for the playpen, it's really going to depend on the ferrets. I've got a few who would go through that like a knife through butter. And others who wouldn't have a clue how to escape

Most ferrents here swear by the Ferret Nations. Mine are free range and so we have a folding Marshall Mansion (just for emergency travel). The price is good for the Prevue, and they won't be living in it. It's just their vacation home, so it should work fine. And please don't worry about asking questions, speaking for myself, I am so happy that you are such a good Auntie!

Speaking of my iguana.. I can't resist posting just a couple more pics. She has a huge crush on the tegu. We're hoping to be the proud grandhumans of the world's first "teguanas" iguana = Cordelia; tegu = Finnegan (celebrity couple name: Cordegan)

Pet supplies.com also has the single one for $107 + 4.99 shipping. A single one would be more than adequate for two ferrets coming for a visit.
