I had an old vitamin bottle filled with veggie noodles for a rattle toy for the boys. I have had it for well over 3 years and never had a problem - the cap is child proofed. Well somehow they managed to break it open this morning and Koda, and possible Kenai too, ate some of the noodles! It didn't look like a significant amount if noddles were missing from the bottle and I investigated when I heard a suspicious noise so I don't *think* they were at it for long. But depending on how much they each actually ate.... :S Can they digest/pass the noodles? I mean they eat litter breeding on their food and noodles get soft...

* I swear those boys are going to give you grey hair early. I'm sure they will likely be able to pass them, but I personally would definitely use some precaution and probably break out the pumpkin and vaseline just to be safe.

I'd also try to get them to drink extra water to help soften the noodles.

Make a broth, to entice them to drink more. Give them a dose of pumpkin (I don't think egg is going to help for this application) Keep an eye on them. I've never heard of ferrets eating noodles. Your guys are truly special Katt. ciao

Your guys are truly special Katt. ciao Thanks. Somehow that isn't a compliment.... hahaha Drinking more is a good idea. We are driving home today thankfully. I don't have a food way to make soup out here. I have a small (1mL so very small) syringe I can use to make them drink a little and when we get home I will make some soup. Maybe some baby food and water to be extra tasty....?

Stuff that makes things move easily through the system would be best, watered down baby food would probably work. You're guys are so adorable Katt, but you know, they'd try the patience of a saint with the items they consider "edible" ciao

Your two boys certainly keep you on your toes! I can't believe the stuff they find, to get into. Like the rest of our whole litigious society, you should sue the makers of that childproof cap and then when you win, and they have to put ferretproof on all the labels, we can all have a good giggle knowing that came from Koda and Kenai.

LOL That would be pretty funny! haha I'm going to have to take a video for you guys some day to prove that their spaces really ARE ferret proofed! I swear they are! Nothing is KODA proofed though, that's the problem - there is no such thing as Koda proof. Seriously ALL they had in their small travel cage was a litter box, ceramic food dish, a blanket, sleep sack, 2 hammocks, a few chicken wings, one jingle ball, and the vitamin bottle toy. Yet he somehow finds a way to cause trouble! (headwall) I have has that toy since Koda was a kit and have never had an issue. I put the lid back on and the child proof still worked fine, it wasn't broken. The lid diameter is far too wide for them to get their mouths around the whole top too... For the life of me I do not know how they managed to get the darn thing open! Well, one less toy they can play with. Soon we'll be down to nothing but tunnels haha

Do you feed them salmon or fish oil katt? I've had some luck with Wheatley passing things with a big dose of oil to help things slide cleanly through. My worry would be them swelling a bit larger with moisture soaked up from their system. I would hope that their stomach acid could break the noodles down though given how acidic it is. I hope the boys are ok. :/

I would think that stomach acid would decompose noodles to some degree being as they are food (albeit not ferret food) and consequently biodegradeable and not plastic or some other thing Koda might consider edible. The main thing will be that they don't present a blockage until that can happen. Can't think of any better advice than that already offered, just wishing you well & that things turn out fine for your wee trouble maker
