I have acquired a colony of egyptian spiny mice for breeding - I intend to cull the baby males for our ferret. Does anyone have any experience of these for feeding purposes.
I'm wary of offering the juveniles to the ferret due to the spiny fur or would this just make excellent roughage? But was thinking the newborns would be similar to the rat pups she loves, as they are born with hair and are bigger than most fancy mice only having 1-4 in a litter.

I've never heard of ESM, so I googled it. Interesting the things we learn here on the HFF.
