I'm looking to adopt two ferrets in the near future and am in the process of building a shed. Would the ferrets be ok to live in an indoor two storey ferret cage with in the shed provided I insulate it ?

What country/region do you hail from? Many places are unsuitable for outdoor living for ferrets because it gets too hot, they would need an insulated building with AC in some countries to withstand the heat safely.

If your area gets to 80F in the summer you need to have an insulated shed that also has air con. Winter as long as the shed is insulated and has a lot of warm nesting boxes would be fine down to about -4F
