had Pedro to the vet today. hoping just uti or kidney infection. antibiotics and pain meds for now. keeping a close eye and see if ureatha swelling goes down or it might be adrenal or tumor. to early to tell. just glad that we have an awesome vet that goes above and beyond.I will keep you updated. He's never had these meds before so I don't know how he will react.

If they're finishing their meals, feel free to increase the amount you give them if you'd like. I'll see what your menu is tonight, but I'd recommend adding additional proteins in larger amounts if you haven't done so yet.

Yes, that's exactly what it looks like to me. Mine seem to eat about the same now as they did this summer but I'm almost positive it's because Javik has his seasons reversed so he's in Summer mode, that or he's a late "bloomer" and hasn't figured out that it's getting cold yet. Theia is still gaining weight, but Javik has been at a stand-still for almost a month.

k. I will increase. pedro had follow up at vet today. she still doesnt know what is wrong with peepee, still swollen and red. did full blood work up she was worried about adrenal. everything came back normal except blood sugar. I am going to do a fasting sugar in the morning to confirm but she thinks it's insuloma. if so it was caught really early. he has not shown any symptoms at all. I posted on Facebook to see what diet of any I need to change. she was pushing a and d or science diet, neither is an option to me. I will continue raw just dont kknow if rhe balanced menu I have now is adequate.

Raw in general is the only diet you need. Follow a proper balanced menu and he'll have the best chance to stay healthy you can give him. I believe Scott had given you a lot of good information, I agree that you should keep an eye on Pedro's BG weekly and if you ever see something abnormal or if he crashes it would be best to start feeding him more frequently or at least making sure there is some sort of food available at all times, whether raw or freeze dried. I had your menu looked over by Katt and she approves, but we both agree that it would be a good idea to keep this thread open for a week or so just to keep an eye on Pedro and make sure you have a mentor in case anything changes. When we're all comfortable with his health I'll send a mod in to do the final approval and graduate you if they approve

This is a Pedro only post, from the beginning. I don't have a lot of details but I will include everything that I know. this is a Facebook post from when he had his surgery April 2012 www.facebook.com/groups/219669781466030/permalink/230400987059576/at this time he was aged about 9 months. lump on his side, was by his kidney but no kidney or adrenal involvement. Path showed sarcoma. I adopted him Jan 2013. He was on kibble evo, wellness core, 8 in 1 crunchy, and zupreem. In April 2013 I started the switch to raw. by mid May my business was on raw soup and kibble was removed. I since have fully switched them to a balanced diet with the help of my mentor. Oct 8th I noticed a scratch on his belly. Oct 9th his penis was swollen. Oct 17 I noticed that his penis was now red and swollen, he smelled really bad (like kidney failure smell) I took him to the vet that day. She was thinking maybe adrenal or another tumor on him, but also could not rule out infection in bladder or kidney. All activity pooing peeing and eating has been normal. Oct 19 swelling and redness has improved on antibiotics. Oct 21 swelling returned. Oct 22 swelling with redness included. Oct 24 follow up vet visit. She is still not sure about swelling, antibiotic has not been helping. Maybe adrenal so I agreed to do a full blood panel to see if we could find out what is going on. All markers for adrenal are normal, however blood glucose was 95 (normal but based on how is was acting during our hour long visit with her she was sure insulinoma. I had her shave his arm so I could do a fasting bs at home) Oct 25. we did a fasting bs was 52. Called the vet and left a message. She is off until Monday so will not get the message. when I got home from work took bs was 46. feed him and tried to take it again, however I have blown the vein I was using and my meter will not register with foot sticks. Oct 26. when we got up his was gaging a little, I fed him and now is acting normal. Plan for now. Still looking for additional advise. I am going to get a machine that uses less blood today. I am going to make raw soup again today. We will feed him raw soup am and pm before playtime (if the vet puts on meds I will be giving with the soup to hope to avoid ulcers) For the first few weeks I will take his sugar reading 3-4 times a day to get an idea of where he is since he has no signs. Once he is regulated I will take his sugar 1-2 times a week to make sure he is maintaining. I am also going to increase the size of their meals. right now they have food available in the cage but it is usually consumed a couple hours before the next feeding. I want to make sure there is always leftovers so he always has food available to him. He also has a follow up appointment with the vet in 2 weeks for the swelling and redness but she will call me on Monday due to fasting bs reading.
