Thank you. Not bad, but you are a bit light on the bone. There should be 7-9 meals with edible bone. My suggestion is to either add a few more bone-in meals, OR an alternate option is to supplement the meals that do not have bone with 1/4 tsp of powdered eggshell. Are you able to supplement and/or increase the amount of edible bone? Your protein variety looks great, and your organ and heart content are good. As soon as you confirm whether you will be supplementing with calcium, or adding more bone-in meals (in which case please post adjusted menu), I will submit your menu to Heather for approval for graduation. Good job!

Yes, he needs 7-9 meals of edible bone. If you can feed 6 meals that would be better than 5. And then yes, add 1/4 tsp powdered eggshell to 3 additional meals.

Rabbit skull? With meat and brains intact? Where do you manage to find those? I will submit your menus to Heather for approval for graduation.

Interesting! I want to taste rabbit some day. I love trying new foods (though I am super picky and if I don't like it good luck getting me to try it again! haha) and I am always so curious about the foods I buy for my critters. Like chicken hearts - my grocery store carries them in abundance. So someone is eating them... I also want to try duck, and rabbit, and goat (I hear goat is super tasty). One of these days I will pilfer a little from the ferret stash and cook it up! How do you guys cook your rabbit? The head is SUPER nutritional by the way, so that is fantastic that they get that! Your meals of 1/2 chicken heart and such is half a Meal/Serving of chicken heartS, not 1/2 of a single chicken heart correct? (I know it sounds like a silly question but we have had a few people come through the program who occasionally...misunderstand things, so I was asked to clarify just to be 200% certain before your menu is officially approved. ) Just waiting on the final approval from Heather! You have done great.

Congratulations (dance). you've graduated and you're ready to walk this path alone, now . You have the foundation to help you feed your fuzzes in a more natural and healthy manner. Please remember that your learning never stops, and dietary needs change from ferret to ferret and throughout each their lives. Please be very careful to keep enough bone in your ferrets' diet. I would also like you to be aware that though you now have the capability and the knowledge to create your little ones diets you are never alone and that your mentor (you need only pm) is always available to you. The list is also a very good resource and you should always be aware that it's available to answer any questions you may have either about diet or care. Keep a close eye on your calcium balance and make sure that you make use of the powdered egg shells or bone when doing a couple of meals of straight meats (bone being the preferable). Good luck, in a few days either Sherry or I will lock down this thread and place it in the archives but be aware that you can always look through it as a reference tool but you just will not be able to post to it. Your mentor will be in to congratulate you shortly (wave) . ciao

yes, its half a meal not half a heart. and we either grill (so good) or stew it. its super tasty! goat on the hand is not my favorite. I think its rather slimey but that's just me. And yay ! ive been looking forward to this. This experience has been great, not only for me but for tank too! I will try to post a picture tomorrow. He has tripled his size since I got him! I will pop in and ask questions and tell you guys about me and tank. Thank you so much!
