My name is Rhea, I'm 17, going to be 18 in 2 days ! I currently run a rodent rescue. I own rats, a parakeet, a Chihuahua, a Shih Tzu, 2 Bloodhounds, a Labrador Retriever, 4 cats, rabbits, chickens ! We live on a nice sized piece of land with 30 acres of woods and a beautiful river behind us. We hunt and fish, so our freezer is always packed full of wild game This is me ! This is me and just one of our many rats, Hyde (: This is my boyfriend (Jerry) and I about a year ago, with our Chihuahua, Macy. I'm glad to be joining the forum !

Basically a mini-zoo here and I absolutely love it :3 We are hoping we can get some ferrets around the 12th this month. They will be rescues and I'm almost certain they'll be permanent residents here (: And our pup is also a rescue ! And thank you for the birthday wishes (:

I do hate to say this- but I'm sure you realize you can never allow your ferrets access to any of the smaller animals? They are all prey, and in many cases are stressed by even the smell of the ferrets. Only reason I'm mentioning it even is one of our former members made the decision to rehome her ferrets after they'd escaped their cage and killed her rabbit.

Sherry makes a very good point, your home is basically a food farm for ferrets (sorry if that's too graphic), always keep your rodents in separate rooms from your ferrets, if you can't do that then it's in the best interest of the rodents that you reconsider your ferrets. That said, if you have a plan that will keep all of them very separate from each other then I see no harm in bringing ferrets into your bunch, just be very cautious, and always make sure you wash your hands every time you finish holding one animal before the other.

Our rats and ferrets will be in separate rooms and our rabbits live in hutches outside, so they will never be in contact (:
